Jane McCoy
A heart shattered into many pieces as tiny, tear filled eyes stared at the screen. How long has it been since Jim had gone through this exact same thing? He was pit in hell thrown against others who wanted to kill him - in order for her to win, he had to die. Saffron wore the crown Jane begged her brother to wear, and now he's gone. Lost in a world far away where nobody ever remembers him. The girl fell. Mobbed by many. Limbs went flying as they hacked away at her piece by piece. A lump formed in the tiny girl's throat. Breathing was once natural, but now it feels so hard, so foreign - if it wasn't for her brain controlling the rise and fall of her chest, there wouldn't be any. Jane's mind raced with thoughts as the life fled from the girl from home. Jim killed his own district partner in the games he was chosen for, but it was only after she killed his friend. And now he's gone, dead, never to return.
Tears streamed down her face as she ran from the square as fast as she could. Each breath caught in her throat. Her heart hammered behind her chest pounding loudly in her ears. Jane missed her brother more than any words could ever describe. Every year she was forced to relive it as a new set of tributes journeyed throughout the same living hell he had once went through. Her throat burned as she ran away. Her eyes scanned the area as the tears nearly froze against her face, yet she didn't stop. It was unknown what caused her to run, but everywhere it was the same thing. A gentle breeze flew through the air cutting through her body chilling her straight to the bone.
She only stopped when she thought she was far enough away. Hearing the talks of the games shattered her heart into millions of pieces sending shards flying everywhere. Nightmares crept through her skull bouncing around threatening to consume her life. Every time her eyes closed she saw it. She watched him die over and over. She begged for it to stop, yet as the games continued on they not got worse until a victor had been crowned and there was nothing left except his face flashing before her eyes as the anthem fades away. Her legs buckled underneath her, and Jane tumbled towards the ground landing on her knees. In a hushed voice she whispered, "Jim, I need you. I need you."
