FOLIUM VENTURAM
d i s t r i c t s e v e n | [presto] I slowly descend down the stairs. Once I reach the bottom I wonder what I was going to do. It's the middle of the day on a weekend. I could've just stayed in my room. But for some reason I came down here. I look out the window. It's beautiful. The sun shines from above at full boar, illuminating everything warmly with it's yellow gaze. It's getting warm enough to melt the snow, now. I can see that it's much less deep than it was before. The sky is a gorgeous light blue, stretching from end to end of the seemingly endless horizons. I guess technically the horizons are never ending. [/presto]Now the trick is to see if it's all just a ruse. If when I walk outside I'll be bombarded with the cold or with warmth. With a harsh winter breeze or a lukewarm gust from springtime. I reach over to the coat rack and grab my jacket, putting it on and then stepping toward the door. I hesitate. Do I really want to go outside? I could just stay in here, get some food out of the refrigerator and pig out. I don't have anything to do today. But a nice walk outside, however short it is, would be nice. I open the door and walk outside. It isn't cold, but it isn't warm. It's that perfect temperature where you can do seemingly anything and not break a sweat, or get cold. I decide to go for a walk around the block. I step down off of the porch and commence the walk. I soon reach the village, realizing that I walk much farther than one block. I quickly turn around and before I can do anything, there's a girl in my way. Luckily I've avoided crashing into her, but I jump back and the words, "Oops! I'm sorry!" fly from my mouth before I know what I'm doing. |
