For you, there'll be no crying
For you, the sun will be shining
'Cause I feel that when I'm with you
It's alright
I know it's right
My name is Mavis Halczie, and my middle name is just stupid so lets pretend I don't have one. I'm fifteen, though most of the time I tell people I'm older. I'm a girl, and I really like girls. In the special way, if you know what I mean. The only straight part of me is my hair, which is also black. I have large, dim hazel eyes. They don't work very well, which can be aggravating. I'm legally blind in the left eye, and my right is heading downwards but I can still see enough to get around. Supposedly I won't be going blind any time soon, though I get flashes if I don't drink enough water. Most people don't like their nose, but I'm confident in mine. There have been multiple times in my life where people mentioned how pretty my nose is, which I don't get because I ould never compliment someone's nose. Its weird. I'm not so confident in my lips, though, which thin and rather pale.
I'm small, okay? I'm athletic, but I'm small. I can run a mile in five minutes, but it would be a heck of a lot easier with longer legs. I'm almost 5'. My figure is mostly boyish. My hips are narrow and my bust doesn't have much size. I'm very thin, thanks to spending more energy than I consume regularly. As for legs, they are fairly pretty and I don't mind how they look at all. I tend to wear sneakers, jeans, and I'm a fan of plain tshirts. If I'm dressing nice it doesn't go unnoticed, since its so rare. Never will I ever be seen a dress.

And the songbirds keep singing like they know the score
Music is one of the biggest parts of my life. My father is a luthier, and my mother is a music teacher. Much of our profit comes from orders from the capitol, but in the past decade sales have gone down to the point where my older brothers and I are playing for money. I don't mind it as much as they do, because I truly enjoy playing. In regular circumstances being the center of attention is a nightmare. I can be awkward, and difficult to hold conversation with. When I play, its a different story. The song makes up who I am, and what my grandfather would have called fantasie I become whatever the listener wants me to be.
Once I set the instrument down I go back to being Mavis, and she's someone whose best friends are her two older brothers, Lark and Laron. They've been my only friends since I can remember, not because of how awkward I am (though that would probably have contributed), but because our family is so closely knit. There has never been a need for someone else. When they moved out I didn't stop seeing them. They continued to come to my father if he needed help, and if he didn't I'd go to them. Laron introduced me to poetry when I was ten, and from there I found my key to expression.
My sense of humor has always been extremely sarcastic. Sometimes it renders me unlikeable, though I can figure out when to stop if I really need to. My family comes before anything and everything, there is nothing I wouldn't do for them.
