name: Lillian Collins
age: 17
gender: female
district/area: district 12
appearance: Lillian has elegant, wavy blonde hair that cascades to her hip, a petite figure, and rather stunning green eyes, with little swirls of hazel near the pupil. She has an angular, sharp jawline and small ears usually tucked inside her hair. Her fashion sense consists of dirtied overalls, and a plain, red shirt, along with worn combat boots; in other words, work clothes are her go-to outfit. Lillian is pretty, some would say, but her looks are usually hidden by a layer of dirt and mud-stains.
Lillian's petite figure is lined with slightly pale skin, and a small display of freckles. She typically doesn't expose much of her complexion; her modesty and low self-confidence tended to take control, even in the hot weather. Due to her dull fashion sense and quiet personality, Lillian typically didn't stand out in a crowd; she enjoyed to lurk amongst the people, to blend in and never be seen. It was something she took pride in; often she won hide-and-go-seek tournaments with her siblings when they played, hiding in the most simplest spots but somehow blending in.
personality: Lillian is your typical hard-worker; shy, curious, brave, sweet, and understanding. She usually isn't outspoken(unless provoked, then she can snarky and sharp), and keeps most of her thoughts and feelings to herself -- although, she mostly tends to only reveal her true emotions to people she trusts, specifically family. Not many know the true Lillian; it's not as if she has many friends to share it with, for her 'friend-making' abilities lack.
Like most people in her district, Lillian's a hard-worker and would do anything to help her family. She helps out at the bakery from time to time, sells pelts, and even works in neighbor's yards, just to gain a little cash. Lillian doesn't mind the work; she rather enjoys it, for the extra labor calms her. If it means making money for her family, she'll do anything she can.
Lillian's two younger siblings, George and Henry, hold the exact opposite personalities; both rambunctious and playful. Though her mother does an excellent job handling of the two, Lillian finds herself the one keeping them out of trouble throughout town, for she often is a rule-follower. Responsibility and honesty are her strong traits; though, occasionally, she enjoys to join in with her brothers' games, just to lift some of the tension from her shoulders. Much like her mother, Lillian takes every hardship of the family upon herself, doing her absolute best to patch it up. But her attempts are usually futile; even with her extra work, hardly any food came around. And with two growing boys with a desperate need for new clothes, money was getting harder and harder to keep.
As for courage, Lillian was about as courageous as one could get. Though her modesty prevented her from truly recognizing it, she was about as brave as to put her life on the line for family - her brothers and mother were the most important people to her, and there would be no hesitation if she was asked to die for them.
history: Lillian has a rather typical history for a district 12 family; striving for food everyday, barely managing to get along -- with one exception.
Her father, George Collins, died of an unknown disease when she was thirteen- devastating the whole family and even the whole neighborhood. George was well-known and lovable; he never ceased to make someone smile, and was quite a bargainer.
Lillian was his obvious favorite out of the three children -- like a typical dad, he hugged her through her nightmares, taught her how to properly bake, helped her with homework; they were close.
So close, that when George's mysterious death occurred, Lillian was broken.
Along with her mother and siblings, she was by George's deathbed when he died, squeezing his hand and wiping tears from her own eyes with the other. He died in pain and misery, barely able to breath and choking on his own vomit. Being only thirteen, it was a devastating sight for Lillian; she could never forget it, especially when he took his last, shaky breath, and cascaded into death.
After that, she didn't talk for weeks on end, and barely ate anything. Often the doctor came to visit, reassuring Lillian's mother that it was only depression, and there was really nothing he could do about it. She would wake up with reoccurring nightmares, desperately praying that her father would come in and reassure her that it was only a dream; but he never came. She even lacked in school, barely managing homework and failing a couple tests.
Although that spell ended, Lillian was never the same. Her old self was lively, and outgoing; now she remained a shell, never revealing her feelings and steering clear of anyone who seemed to care for her. Not even she remembered how she used to be, how she could light up a room whenever she walked in. That side was gone now; only to be returned by a miracle.
