She dresses very comfortable and casual, and she is starting to outgrow most of her clothes now that she is becoming a healthy weight. She prefers to wear neutral colors, like white and black. She may seem shy at first, but once you get to know her, she is bursting with energy. She is a loyal friend but if you turn on her she is not afraid to get revenge. She loves nature and is good at identifying plants and animals. She doesn't like to work very hard, so she gets in trouble sometimes for her laziness, but somehow has straight A's. Some think it's because she likes to flirt her way to good grades, but she thinks it's just because of her bubbly personality.
Her friends always count on her for advice, especially with boys, since she is a big romantic. She doesn't like to gossip about others, as she is very friendly. She always tries to see the good in others, so her friends are usually not liked by other people. She has befriended some bullies and have taught them to be nicer. She can be very talkative, which can get her in trouble quite a bit.
Since she is such a loyal friend, she is also very sensitive. It's pretty easy to insult her, but she usually stays calm. Her father died when she was very young by an accidental execution from a peacekeeper. Since then she has always been afraid of them. Whenever she sees them she tries to avoid them at all costs. Since then she has lived with her mother. Her mother has had a rough time coping with the loss, and has disappeared from the house mysteriously multiple times. Since Sterling also has a little brother named Prism, she has to care for him. Prism is only 4 years old.
Sapphire was diagnosed with anorexia at the young age of 11, right after her father died. She had won the battle at the age of 13, but relapsed and purged at age 14. She has not shown any symptoms of an eating disorder since then, mainly because her brother made her promise not to starve herself again. Since she has such a deep connection with her brother, she has kept that promise.
In school, she is a bit of a teachers pet, because of her outstanding grades. She is not popular, but well liked amongst her group of friends. She had gotten bullied about her weight in the past, which had caused her to relapse. She had to switch schools after being diagnosed, which made it hard for her to make new friends. But soon after she recovered, she started gaining multiple friends. She has not told anyone except her mother about her relapse.
