Merrily I fall out of line, out of line
I'd fall anyway where with you,
I'm by your side,
Swinging in the rain, humming melodies,
I'm not going anywhere until I freeze,
The flurries of snow danced and swirled calmly around Prism as a long breath escaped through his frozen lips leaving a long cloud of warmth to dissipate into the chilling breeze. Gravity grew stronger and stronger as Prism's knees grew weaker and weaker. Through the fading light of his paling eyes Prism watched as Chaske screamed and the other girl's whipped away into the white wilderness. Then he was alone, Chaske was gone and no longer could he maintain the strength to stand. In a matter of moments Prism toppled over himself and fell into the blanket of snow that was now his final resting place.
The snow didn't even feel cold anymore as Prism let out a small laugh. He never would have imagined that his final moments would be in such a breath taking place. The trees all around him shone beautifully against the frozen clouds behind them and Prism finally felt as though he was at peace. Yet he wasn't sure whether that was a good thing or not. He would never be able to return to Diamond or Deja any longer, however, he wasn't upset or sad about that. For some reason he was okay with just staying here for a while. He still had to track down Dillon and Wyatt after all.
That was when a thought crossed his mind which now was slowly preparing for its final slumber. Prism's hand scrambled weakly through his pockets until he revealed his pipe. He let out a quiet laugh as he shakily held it up for all of Panem to see, for her to see. "Hey look Diamond, I'm finally quitting now so you don't have to worry anymore okay." Prism says just loud enough for any of the hundreds of cameras on him right now could hear him. It was then in that moment though one final idea made its appearance in Prism's head.
Ever so carefully he removed his headband as he held the dagger of a horn above his chest. He had always controlled his life in his own hands and now would be no exception. In his final moments he would want the legacy of Prism Nixton to be the boy who never let anyone control. The boy who always did things the way he chose to do them. The boy who in his final moments took his life with his own hands. So as the pain the swept through his body grew stronger Prism let out one final laugh and a gentle smile to show he was still that carefree boy from three. Then the drove the horn through his chest and into his heart.
Everything changed the moment his heart froze. He could feel his entire soul being ripped viciously from his body and then he was hurled into the air. Within seconds he was soaring above the clouds. A few more seconds later he was passing the very moon he use to long to go to. Then in another blink of an eye he was sent flying into the heart of the Sun, except it didn't burn. All Prism could feel was warmth and happiness.
By the time he had finally finished moving he was surrounded by the Sun's vibrant light and shockingly there was a little girl standing in front of him. Her face was so familiar to him for some reason but he just couldn't put his finger down on who she was, or at least he couldn't until she spoke. "Hi Prism, welcome to your final destination, your final high as you would call it. My name is Emery and I, just like you, died in my Games. Now I am sure the way you got here was different from mine since everyone's is but I want you to know that you are safe now."
Prism shook his head for a moment, he knew he was dead but yet he was still alive? He couldn't understand what in the world was going on. "Wait but where are we?" Prism asked childishly almost fearfully. Emery just smiled and stepped aside to reveal another woman. This time though I knew her in an instant as the tears began streaming softly down my face. Our arms were locked around each other before I even got the chance to say hello to my own mother. One I lost over a decade ago, one I thought I would never see again, yet here she was.
Gently she ran a hand down my cheek as she smiled, "Oh my precious Prism, you have grown so much. I am so happy to see you, yet I never thought it would be so soon." I try to say something but the words are all strung up in my throat so I simply nod as she answers my question. "We are in what those alive believe to be the sun. However, to those that have passed on it is the gate to our new home." My eye brows raise in question until I can see some sort of vibrant and lovely land behind both of them. "So Prism, are you ready to come home?" She asks me softly as I look over my shoulder towards the land from which I came. A pang of guilt hits me for a moment but then it passes as I turn towards my mother and Emery. "Yes Mom, I think I am" She smiles as she takes my hand, "Then lets go home"
