To believe that the open forest was once a mystery, an ominous presence just outside your reach, something your eyes glanced at and your mind longed for but never had the drive to fulfill, to believe that these things were once reality is still something that your conscious has trouble swallowing.
Starved breathing and hushed footsteps and broken fences and finally, finally sewed up dreams hanging to your spirit, breaths becoming more shallow, quicker faster stronger as stalking turned to sprinting and sprinting turned to freedom. One step, two steps three hops and one body collapsing to the ground in sheer amazement and wonder that you are finally
free.free·domˈfrēdəm/Submitnounabsence of subjection to foreign domination or despotic government.A body not tailored to survive, made up of cracking bones and crumbling skin, a temple that needs rebuilding. You were not tailored to survive, odds stacked against you in a mighty battle between willpower and the elements. Drinking from open streams, cracking nuts against rock, lit fires before hushing them out.
You made your first kill three days after your flight from existence, tearing skin from flesh like predator to prey. And it was one step towards a direction you thought was right. The direction that your quest for existence in the form of non-existence had taken you.
Things went well for the first month.
And thenhe sheit came. Behind bushes and trees, shadows on the corner of your eyes. And oh, how quickly you learned. To rip eye from socket and place it on your back. To run sprint during day and rest as little as possible during night. Because you knew you were being followed, that something wanted to rip your skin from flesh and drag you back into the reality from which you crawled out of.
And oh, how quickly predator became prey.__________If you skipped over the blurb, I feel you but damn bro, that's cold. Anyways, i'm sure you've all noticed how horribly not active the forest thread is, and don't even get me started on the ocean. I want to change that with this plot, or at least spur some activity in there. This focuses on the idea that the Capitol, instead of sending out heavy machinery or manpower to track down the wanderers that have fled from their districts, have instead hired a group of highly skilled and dangerous trackers/hunters. Essentially, it's predator vs prey. Wanderer vs Hunter.
As with my other plots, I really want as many people to be able to participate as possible, and with the new reaping limit rule with non-reapables, I figured this would be a fun way for people to not only make a non-reapable, but to be able to develop a character and, most importantly, have fun while doing so.
However, this is not first come first serve. Pre-existing characters will be listed below, and I will be deciding them. However, there is always always always ALWAYS room for original characters and/or pre existing characters *wink wink nudge nudge*__________
Characters**You might notice that I did something a little different with characters listed this time. I'm absolutely huge on creativity, and I really really want it conveyed in character applications. It's not my character, it's yours. So as such, I am only giving you a single quote as a character background/info. From there it is up to you, whether you completely change it or not. Just be creative!
Wanderers
X (Pogue)
"He called us survivors and I called us a scam."
-- (Open)
"I watched myself die in these woods."
-- (Open)
"*Incoherent mumbling*"
-- (Open)
"I guess i'd rather fight for nothing than die for the same thing."
-- (Open)
"Lonely? Ha! I wish I could be lonely again."
-- (Open)
"What they haven't taught me I have taught myself, and what I haven't taught myself I guess i'm just going to have to learn."
Hunters
Scorpion (Pogue)
"Trust me, it's the poison talking."
-- (Open)
"So, what's your story?"
-- (Open)
"I learned to taste, to smell and to relish fear. Both their fear and my own."
-- (Open)
"To call them fools would be an insult. We're chasing comedic masterminds, harlequin geniuses if you will."ApplyingAgain, PLEASE be as creative and out there as possible as you want to be with these. I enjoy nothing more than seeing an app so unlike anything i've seen before. And of course, thank you for applying (if people even do plz).
