Appearance:
Jake has shaggy blond hair that are like the tips of waves. He is tanned and strong, strong enough to lift both his siblings onto his shoulders and still carry his fishing gear.His eyes are the colour of the waves crashing onto the beach. He is lean and tall. His hair falls in curtains around his face.
Jake has scars down his back. They are only small, but he will always remember how he got them.They run down his back like a stream leading to the ocean. His face is of a child much younger than himself. He doesn't smile often which is odd considering his age. He wears a look of grievance as if he has lost a loved one. The only time he doesn't is when he pretends for his younger siblings.
Personality:
His favourite colour is orange,like the sunset. He likes to paint the sunset, the waves in the afternoon and his family smiling as they eat icecream on the beach.. He acts like a five year old. He loves to surf and fish. He enjoys swimming. He is not particularly smart but he does ok. He enjoys sports and is good at them, because he is in a career district.
He plays a variety of sports like soccer, rugby, basketball and water polo. Being in a career district he is good at these. Sports he does not so well in include swimming, netball and hockey. His lack of ability in swimming is unusual for his district. Being twelve, he has to train for the Games in case he is reaped. His signature weapon is a trident, the same as many people from District Four find.
In school, Jake does well enough to pass, but is not as good as others. He dislikes maths, English and writing. He enjoys science, sports and reading. As part of tradition he has to take regular trips to the sea with his class. He likes to dip his toes in the water and trace his fingers through the sand.
History:
Jake has two siblings, June: 5 and Finn:3. He loves them more than anything else in the world. His parents are Darren and Alice. Darren makes nets seven days a week and Alice works as a weekend cook in the town square so Jake has to take care of his two siblings for those two days. Finn likes to jump into the sea that surrounds district 4 while June prefers to find seashells on the beach. If Jake was reaped they would all be devastated.
Jake is well known within his community for his enthusiasm to paint. He sometimes sells his paintings to help support his family but only so they can buy more luxuries. He is also known for his lack of skill in swimming despite his love for it.He is considered a stranger in his district due to his problem in this area. The saltwater burns the scars on his back when he swims in the sea, but he can swim fine in the swimming pool.
When Jake was young,he was very mischievous. He once got in an argument with some older boys. Much older boys. Because he was so small they simply lifted him up and carried him to the beach. They threw him into the sea. His back scraped against the shells embedded in the sandy bank. He was in hospital for three days. They almost lost him.
