Lavender Stark
Raffey Cassidy
Twelve Years
District Seven
Odair
Appearance
Lavender is fairly small for her age. She stands at only 4'7". Lavender is rarely noticed in crowds due to this. In general, though, she isn't noticed that much either. There is one noticeable part about Lavender, however.
And that's her arms, legs and hands. Why? Her scars from abuse and living on the streets for three years. Lavender has been avoided for them. She's met only two people who've looked past that, though Lavender doesn't know many people.
And that's her arms, legs and hands. Why? Her scars from abuse and living on the streets for three years. Lavender has been avoided for them. She's met only two people who've looked past that, though Lavender doesn't know many people.
She has medium brown hair. It's naturally straight. Lavender's hair is always down and has nothing ever in it, due to having nothing for it.
Lavender's green eyes have specks of blue around the edges. They aren't the most beautiful sight ever, but she's fine with it. That's the way she was born.
In general, Lavender's not the most attractive person ever, but she really doesn't care.
Personality
There's two sides of Lavender. It isn't like multiple personality disorder or anything. She's just different to people she cares about and people she hates.
We'll start off with people she hates, because there seems to be more of them.
Around them, she tends to be a bit more aggressive than usual. Lavender also tries to annoy them a lot but make it seem accidental. Another thing she'll do around them is act very stubborn and point out every mistake they make.
Now for people she cares about.
Around them, Lavender is pretty selfless. She's also very kind and would do anything for them. Lavender is very loyal to people she cares about.
Around both, she's very outgoing and will trust no one until she knows they trust her.
But there's also another side. A side for people she doesn't mind. Lavender acts completely different to them then to she hates or cares about.
To them, Lavender's very cautious. Most of the time, she doesn't know them and would want to make sure they can't do anything to her.
Also to them, Lavender's really quiet and like she would never hurt a fly. This goes back to Lavender not wanting them to her. It's the quiet side is nothing like her, and the never hurting people is so they would think she's weak.
History
Lavender Stark was born to two lumber jacks in District Seven. She was the last born child out of seven. Lavender had four older brothers named Colin, Errol, Samuel and Preston and she had two older sisters named Claire and Esther.
Esther, the eldest, had always bullied Lavender. She also influenced the other kids to bully Lavender, too.
And for her parents, it was no different. Mr. and Mrs. Stark abused Lavender, made her do everything around the house and got her in trouble for absolutely nothing.
By the time Lavender was nine, she was forced to leave home. And because of how much they hated her, Mr. and Mrs. Stark didn't bring her to an orphanage. They made Lavender live on the streets.
It's been a year since Lavender's abandonment. She had lived on the streets begging for food. But rarely ever she actually got food.
But that was until she found a meadow filled with berry bushes. But that wasn't all. Inside there was a boy and a girl. They both had dark brown hair and eyes and pale skin. The only difference was that the girl had freckles. The two of them looked about Lavender's age.
She stood still until the boy, said "Hi! I'm Neville! This is my sister, Erin!" pointing to the girl. She waved. "You?" Neville asked.
"I-I'm Lavender." Lavender replied.
Erin scanned Lavender and said: "Neville and I discovered this meadow a while ago. No one really came by until you. Anyways, Lavender, you look poor. You want some berries?"
"You can take them whenever you like," Neville added.
"Erm," Lavender said. "What type?"
"Blueberries," Erin replied to her.
Lavender looks at the berries awkwardly as if they were going to kill her.
"Blueberries, not nightlock," Neville assures her. "We've tried them,"
And ever since that day, Lavender, Neville and Erin became good friends. Lavender even told them about her past.
"I really don't get why they would do that to you," Erin said after she told them.
"I actually don't get it," Lavender told Erin. "And it was me who they were doing it to."
...
And that was the story of Lavender Stark.
