The strangest things are the ones that change our lives forever. A birthday present, perhaps. That is exactly what changed young Coralie's life. Her best friend was a birthday gift for her fifteenth birthday, a little blue lion cub that was one of those new Pokémutts that she had been hearing about for ages. A Shinx.

Perhaps it was the irony of the fact that it was the ever quiet and meek Coralie that received the electric lion, but she would end up far from being quiet and meek. A skilled battler, Coralie found her thirst for action. Some might even say she became a bit of an adrenaline junkie. Derry, the Shinx, couldn't have been happier. He was in his element in the fights.
