Appearance: Sapphire has chest length, dark blonde hair, that's naturally straight. Light skin, and sky blue eyes. She is considered "underweight" for someone who is 5'8, and is only 85 lbs. She usually either has her hair up in a high pony tail, or a lose braid. If you see her with her hair down, it has to be a special occasion.
Sapphire may be a member of the higher districts, but she doesn't throw make-up all over her face, and wear flashy and fancy clothes, like the Capitol. She usually is dressed in something easy to move around in. If its a special occasion, she wont hesitate to throw on a nice dress, or skirt. Her face is round for the most part, but comes inwards at the jaw line. He eyes are shaped like wide almonds. She has no tattoos or piercings.
Personality: Sapphire is always up for an adventure. She can be mature during a bad situation, and is good at keeping people under control. She has the personality to be a good leader. That may be good at times, but sometimes its not, she can come off as bossy, sometimes rude. Even though the people who know her know that shes a family orientated, kind, exciting person. She's not perfect at all, one of her biggest flaws is that if one of her friends or family members are in danger, she will not hesitate to go save them, because of that, she has an issue with almost getting herself killed... A lot. One of Sapphire's biggest fears is drowning, she's never liked the water.
Sapphire is very fast, and can move quietly and quickly, due to her light weight. She's stronger then she seems and always tries to show people that. Sapphire is one to hold a grudge, if someone does something bad to her or her family, she will shut you out, possibly forever. Many people become scared of her when she takes charge. Sapphire may appear happy, but shes always struggling with one fear that's clawing at her everyday, and every night, her siblings being sent off into the Hunger Games.
Sapphire has a hard time letting people into her life. It makes it hard for her to trust people. She will take the time to think everything through. She is one to risk herself for the life of others, without telling them. It's easy for people to trust her, so she makes friends easily, but doesn't have many close ones, because its hard for her to trust others.
History: Sapphire lives with her mom, Emerald, her twin brother, Quartz, and her nine year old sister, Ruby. Their family has been gem miners as long as they could remember. Sapphire's dad passed away when she was ten years old. He was crushed in a mining accident. One of the final things her dad said to her, stuck with her forever, "Be the leader you were born to be, and protect your siblings from the games." Sapphire's name comes from her dad, a sapphire was the first gem her dad ever found in the mines.
The little gem still sits on her dresser, in her huge house, just like every other house in district one. Every day, she slips the little pendent holding the gem around her neck, and leaves for school. Sapphire has always been extremely close to Quartz and Ruby. Sapphires life has been filled with ups and downs, she's scared of drowning, because when she was seven, her best friend hit her head, and fell in a lake, then drowned. Sapphire has always had a deep hatred for the capitol.
She was always that one kid who would stand in the back of the crowd the days the games would begin, and wouldn't find it entertaining or funny, a hatred for the games runs in her family. Sapphire's dad always caused trouble with the peace keepers, it always made her mother worried. Now that her dad is dead, they have left her family alone.
