Thurstan Rutter
Placing my legs up on the table, I’d swivel the straw around the glass. Pieces of lemon sail around in the liquid, flavouring the plain water as they do. Taking a few sips every so often, the sour water would freshen me up. Resting my head back onto the seat, I have a long day to endure, I need to be prepared.
Today I have to arrest two District Twelve citizens for destroying screens in the town square. I sent them a message three hours ago, they’ve fifteen minutes to arrive otherwise things will get nasty. I am sure they’re likely to turn themselves in; after all they live in one of the slummiest Districts, I am sure the Detention Centre will offer a better lifestyle.
I am waiting on the train, I gave specific instructions for them to arrive here and I do hope they can read. I am not up for a good chase scene, I just want to get them on this train and get it over and done with. I am sure I’ll get a lot of assignments like this, shit always happens during the games. I am not sure why, surely 23 deaths is enough for all the civilians?
Looking at the clock, they’ve ten more minutes. Pulling out my gun, I’d load it with the ammunition. Keeping it on safety, I’d place it on the table. Hopefully, I will not have to use it today, if they’ve a brain.
Removing my legs from the table, I’d move from the seat, with the gun in hand. Stepping out of the door, I’d land on the platform. Leaning my back against the train’s body I’d wait.
Surely they would come early? If they’re more than five minutes late, then I’ll have to go after them…great. Well they’ve seven more minutes to get here.
Resting my head against the train, I would not be wearing my helmet right now. Sat in a train with all this full white armour on was like living hell, I’d rather be going to that detention centre than have to live in this. The only thing bad about this job is this armour, I am sure the Capitol could create a more suited piece of uniform for us to wear.
Sliding the gun into the holster, I’d stand up straight. They’ve five minutes. Moving away from the train, I’d stand fully on the platform, hoping for these two delinquents to show up.
