1-3Chaos has placed them on this path.
That much Hela knows for certain, though the path always changes with their master's nature. Twisting as it was, winding as it was, the road leading them to hell is only temporary - like the rest of them. Where they're led is a question for someone less flexible than she, but Hela has no questions for the master because she needs no answers - simply the means to an end.
There is a crowd around her, their inane chatter muted to white noise as people bustle about their daily lives. Ordered, they imagine themselves to be, routine, schedule, usual - words they use often enough that they've somehow deluded themselves into believing such things true. There is no order in the world, only the falsehood of governments and rebels and liars spinning tales of victory and failure, like such things could be controlled.
Law does not exist.
Justice does not exist.
There is only chaos.
Hela walks alone through the crowd, people instinctively parting around her when they see the bedeviled half of her face. She pays them no mind, feeling her rage thrum in her hands, feeling the ground die with every step she takes like the darkest fires have reached up to swallow each footprint she presses barefoot into the dirt. Nearby are the others, carving their own way, if they have not been lost to chaos on their own. Hela imagines that their own paths crumble behind them, drawing destruction to where they are called next.
The crowd clears as the market ends, and Hela's heart skips a beat. Between her fingers her three-sided die is warm metal and stolen body heat. Holding it up to eye level, Hela imagines that it quivers with the same desire for chaos that has set her to stand here, now.
Hela smiles.
"For you," she says, and lets the die roll.
