At the end of the fifth day, the storm raging through the Arena refuses to cease, and the Clock Tower bell strikes an eerie note before it begins its rhythmic tolling of the anthem. It’s almost difficult to hear the familiar play of the nation’s anthem over the crashing thunder, and it’s no easy task to discern where all that noise is really coming from.
Rough as the weather might be, the faces of the dead play against the clouds in perfect clarity, illuminated with the occasional flash of lightning.
Tybalt Capulet, District 1
Gunner La Torre, District 4
Imp Stole, District 8
Lily Hope, District 8
With 4 dead today there's 8 people left in the Arena, 7 of which must meet their demise in order for you to leave the Arena alive.
As the seal finally fades from view, the Clock Tower rings out with an off-key bang that jolts you back to reality.
Congratulations on surviving Day Five, Tributes!
But there’s no rest for the tributes on this night, because they are visited by the ghosts of their past, doppelgangers of the tributes who have already been slaughtered, sent only to haunt and torment.
Come morning light - if you can call it that, with the Arena shrouded in darkness by grim clouds - the lightning only worsens. It strikes the ground so often and so violently that tributes are forced to take shelter underground.
