what you see

Brown locks sit atop his head, messily pushed off to the side and out of his face. The coarse hair frames the top of his head, contrasting against his fair complexion. His hair is greasy and never tidied up because he's usually always being put through tests. Facial hair lines his jaw, circling around his mouth. It's fairly unkempt as he isn't given the tools to maintain it. His eyebrows are fine and thin, two crescent moons above his eyes.

His face is smooth aside from the hair and a few scars, coloured fair and pale. A proportional nose sticks out from his face, turning down slightly at the tip and having a slight bend from a previous break. Thin lips sit below, their pinkish colour standing out amongst his light skin tone. His eyes are a light blue but are surrounded by bruises and bags that make his eyes incredibly dark around the edges. Having a black eye is usual for him, and never comes as a surprise.

He stands at a fair 6'1'', and weighs in at about 162 pounds. He's very toned from all the strenuous work he is put through, but isn't disproportionately muscular. His shoulders are broad, a pronounced collarbone stretching across it. Arms stretch on down to dexterous hands, his fingers rough and worn. His legs are long, forming the basis of his height and ending in thin feet. Flat feet keep him held up all day. Many tears and scars line the flesh of his body all over his legs, arms, chest and back. Because of the nature of his testing, he's clearly a tortured man in terms of the physical sense.

His voice was deep and carried a slight accent, heavy and sounding exhausted. There's a slight bit of sadness within him and it showed itself with his voice and how down he tends to sound. Eyes are often glimpsing past whoever is standing before him, seemingly looking elsewhere and beyond. They speak now as his voice with the loss of his tongue, showing the pain he has dealt with for years. Typically he is dressed in the testing center's outfits or with light shorts on during athletic tasks.

If asked the question 'what are you like' he would say "limitless", if he could speak. Not a single thing gets in his way, and he jumps to prove that there isn't anything that has ever stopped him. Not a single obstacle is permanent in his eyes and so he fights through every difficulty without hesitating. At the end of the day, Aravanis doesn't let small things, or really big things, stop him. He's a fan of being challenged and pushed to the edge, though certainly not in the way that the testing facility pushes him. There is a sort of carelessness he has grown to be used to, flinging himself into situations to keep showing exactly what he can do. In his mind he is the most capable person around as he's proven time and time again that he can do what was seen as impossible.

He's confident to the point of almost being cocky, except that it's well deserved. He does do fairly incredible things when facing the extreme amounts of pain and stress the testers throw him into. There's some remarkable things that he has done and has pushed forward the understanding of what the human body can accomplish before being brought to the very edge, and for that reason he is quite proud to be himself. Without a doubt, Aravanis knows he is doing what no other person would willingly do and so he lets that get to his head. It's clear that he has a pretty big ego, though not in an aggressively rude way.

Human feels as if he is sitting on the edge of a fence, unsure of which side to fall on. He enjoys the feeling of being so incredibly versatile but hates the push back of all that he is put through. A lot of pain is associated with what they make him do, and he is well aware that the harder he works, the harder it will become to accomplish the next task. And yet he still keeps going to be better and to do more. Ultimately he has a hunger to achieve something beyond amazing and will stop at nothing until he arrives at that, even if it means he is completely destroyed in the meantime.

He's a fighter, pushing through everything. Despite having no real voice, he is very vocal about things. His personality is clear through everything, always shining right through him and seemingly emanating from his face and body language. Aravanis jumps head first into everything around him, never really debating the consequences of his actions. There's a darkness to all of his moods though, and a genuine smile is a rare thing from him. So much pain exists in his life that it's hard for him to see the good around him apart from all of his success through the testings. He's never good enough though, always being pushed harder. It makes him fearful, and self conscious despite everything telling him to be proud.

what you remember

Keplar Rykor and Irradica Saveek grew up in the Seventh District side by side, growing up as incredibly loving friends, and eventually becoming lovers. It was inevitable, and perfect for the two families. They grew together for a time before having their first child, Teranus. He was the golden child that could accomplish so much, immediately taking to the lifestyle of living in Seven. Within no time, he was well known throughout the District amongst his age group for being a go-getter that would always succeed in the trees. Their second child was Aravanis, the absolute opposite of Teranus. He wasn't anything incredible, and didn't particularly look as if he'd amount to anything amazing.

It was evident from the beginning that Aravanis was aware of this thought that everybody had about him. Growing up, he always had eyes on him expecting him to show promise in some field. And yet he didn't. He grew up under this shadow of a brother and parents who, whilst they loved him, showed so much more attention to Teranus. When he grew to a teenager, he showed himself to be quite a tough young man and that's where he first showed where he could be unique. Fights weren't uncommon throughout his teenage years, and though he may not have been the best fighter, he could certainly take a punch. There was a lot that he could be put through before giving up, but nobody acknowledged that as anything incredible.

At the age of seventeen was when he hit the roughest patch in his life, finding quite a lot that he didn't quite agree with. When one man came across too aggressively with insults towards his brother and family, he lost it. People around had to pull him away from the man with the now mangled face, then rushing him away to a doctor. Aravanis was arrested immediately and brought to the Detention Center. Going straight to Interrogation, he went through far more than what a regular person should be able to go through before they removed his tongue, ending the torrent of snide remarks he was launching at them. Behind the one way window, though, stood two doctors who were interested in the particular 'gifts' he had.

After serving his sentence, he was flown to the Capitol to be inserted into the testing program. Given a new name and a number to respond to, Human and 570698, he was immediately put through intense training programs to see if he was suitable for what they were wanting to achieve. When they ultimately determined that he would be a great fit, he was put through even more arduous tasks to figure out exactly where his limits were. And once they were found, they were pushed even further out with each passing day. There was no stop to how far they pushed him, never giving up with what they'd do. And he too fought through every single thing put before him to amount to something, becoming someone worth making people proud.
