I don't know how to feel right now. Orion is dead, and his killer is the victor of the games. Such a horrible fate for a guy who was the most powerful of them all. But now I get to see the foolish man. Kirito Miristioma better be prepared for what I will do to him. Nobody kills my brother and gets away with it. Which is why I invited him over to the house for dinner. Maybe it's what every family does for the poor souls who walk free after such a horrible ordeal, yet this isn't about that. It's not about showing him any respect. I'm going to question him, and if he gives me the wrong answers, I may kill him myself. Orion was weak. He couldn't do anything, but I will take this into my own hands.

The amount of food that has been cooked for this occasion smells amazing, but it's nothing compared to the fresh scent of burning flesh. Like the barbecue I created by roasting a peacekeeper until nothing was left but a pile of ashes. Maybe Kirito will have the same fate as him. I'll destroy him like he destroyed me and the rest of my family.

I make my way towards a room that has become restricted to everyone. This room belongs to Mason. On his wall hangs his axe. One that he enjoyed. One he fought with. Perhaps I can intimidate the tiny foolish boy from eleven. He had no right to kill my brother, Orion, and I will make sure he knows it. Once the axe is in hand, I move back down to the kitchen. I twirl it between my fingers as I stand behind the table awaiting for someone to knock on the door. This certain someone happens to be Orion's murderer. Orion would want me to forgive him, but that is impossible. The only thing I could possibly do right now is make sure he never forgets my name. Because my name, is the last name he will ever know.

victor of the 70th hunger games

Death was a river much to rocky to navigate, yet somehow Kirito continued to sail his ship through the dark shadow filled waters. Even as the golden light of day exploded against the metal of Circe's pendant harnessed to his chest Kirito could still feel his body wading in the deadly wakes. Memories of the lost swam like fish within the river constantly leaping from its depths to be remembered again. Yet still on Kirito and his ship sailed as though there actually was a light to reach somewhere over the vast horizon.

A sea of people sweltered and swayed like the cool breeze as Kirito's words flowed into their ears. "Thank you all for having me here in a land filled with the strongest of people and of champions in all of Panem. Now four of those very people entered the arena with me and somehow a small unimaginable boy from eleven survived. I will never understand how or why all I know is that it happened. Which included me ending up killing Orion. Although I didn't know Orion well I knew he was a healer just as I am. In another world I imagine we would have been friends, sadly fate had other plans for us. For his death and all of their sacrafices I will not pointlessly apologize but instead move on and live on for them to ensure their lives are never lost. Good day."

Claps still bounced through Kirito's head as his feet stood firmly in front of the Hammerfell door. Kirito was not very excited to accept the invitation but alas he had no right to say no. However what greeted him as the door opened just made his stomach boil. Undoubtedly a brother to Orion and Mason stood with an axe in his hand. Kirito had already dealt with other families but he sure as hell wasn't going to deal with violence so soon after the games had ended for him. Especially not with yet another Hammerfell.

An annoyed sigh escaped Kirito's mouth as he crossed his arms and refused to walk inside. "Could you put the axe away? No offense I have had quite enough of weapons and violence in general. If this dinner is just going to turn into you trying to avenge Orion then I will turn and leave now. So what way do you want things to play out?" Kirito could feel the steam rising from his head as he continued to look unhappily at the large brute of a man. "I am tired of playing stupid games of blood and death. If you want to by all means go into the arena and chop some kids apart."

"You actually showed up? You have more balls than I thought, Kirito."

Much as I want this filth to leave, I need answers from him. He wants me to put the axe away. I can see why. Fresh out of the games. I'd love to see this axe deeply embedded in his face. Blood dripping down his cheeks just like my brothers who died. I wish it were Mason or Orion here as a victor not this low life from district eleven. I remember setting a peacekeeper on fire months ago? A year ago? Hard to tell. Went to the detention center. Released thankfully. Seeing him here in my house makes my blood boil. I don't want to see Orion's murderer here, but it's too late.

"Okay Kirito. Stay and eat. Tell me one thing. Do you feel any remorse for taking my brother's life? He wasn't some unstable maniac like I am. He truly was a good guy. Deserved to make it home."

I try to remain nice and civil because it's what Orion would do if the rolls were reversed and it was him here and me dead. It would be such a horrible thing for a victor to die shortly after winning the games. I take a deep breath before looking around at anything that'll distract my mind, but right now I'm the one asking the questions, and Kirito best be careful of his answers because they could easily be his last. The thought makes me grin slightly.

Carefully sitting the axe down on the counter, I turn towards my own seat directly across from the table where Kirito would sit if he dared. All I could do was glare at him. I hated the fact that he won the games, yet here he was. I knew once Orion volunteered that he wouldn't pluck up the courage to kill, but rumors have it he made a kill. Maybe little Orion was stronger than I thought. My blood boiled inside my veins, and my hands carelessly balled into fists before relaxing over and over again. All I wanted to do was hurt his family like he hurt mine. I wanted his family to suffer because he was dead like the other twenty-three. Who cares if I had to spend more time in the detention center because right now this foolish boy dared to enter my domain. This is my house, and I will say what's acceptable and what's not. One thing for sure, Kirito doesn't deserve to be alive. No, he deserves to die.

The Hammerfell brute's words only leave Kirito with even more hints of annoyance then before as he rolls his eyes. The man before him was clearly a strong one however he seemed very straight forward. Perhaps he wasn't as intelligent as he presumed himself to be. Kirito could just tell from the gaze he was being given that the man that he was a weak child. Well, that would be his mistake. Kirito was far from a little child anymore. So as his feet carried him into the house he let out a partial laugh before opening his mouth once again.

"I lost an eye, my ears, and some fingers in the arena but my balls are still very much attached."

As his words settled into the air around them Kirito sat without hesitating in the seat. Kirito was far from letting another damned career begin to scare him again. At this point Kirito was almost certain that true fright no longer existed. Or at least if it did Kirito sure as hell had not felt it since the finale. In fact Kirito recalled the terror that trembled through his body as he fought Orion. This sibling of his had no where near the affect his brother had on him, which only made Kirito even more relaxed in his presence.

A question that Kirito knew would come eventually finally slips off of the man's tongue as Kirito felt his hands balling into fists. "What the hell do you think?" Kirito said rather harshly as his annoyance for the question boiled to a climactic point. "I killed a man who was a healer just like me. Who had a family just like me waiting for him. I feel remorse every single passing second I am alive and he isn't."

Silence once again filled the room as Kirito felt the bubbles brewing in his blood. Kirito could tell by just looking at the Hammerfell that just like so many others he was judging him as a monster. Well as far as Kirito was concerned he couldn't give a single fuck. If any of them wanted to know what it was really like then they could go through the games on their own. Until then Kirito would never take their grieving words as gospel for they were always laced with the uncertainty of inexperience.
