Her fingers are caked with dirt, her eyes distracted as she walks through the district, her feet barely making a sound. She had been in her garden all morning, tending to one of her plants which had been trampled by a feral cat or another animal alike. At first glance one would think that it was past being saved but to Clio she couldn't accept that. Even if it was pathetic for her to try, she would because everything, no matter what it was, deserved a second chance, deserved to have a chance taken on them/it. And thats what she had done. She had tried, tried everything that she knew to try and fix it but it was too far gone, its roots had been torn from the soil, its lifeline snapped ever to he mended.
To most people it would seem like nothing, after all a plant was just a plant- you could just buy another one, replace it with the clock of a finger... but to her it was different. A plant represented a life, like a person. They start of young, weak just like us, just like a child. Vulnerable without the protection of an adult. And just like a child they needed to be protected. Protected from predators, from weeds and bugs and feral cats. Without her protection they might perish, not yet strong enough to take care of themselves. Just like her siblings. Without her love and her care they would be lost, with no one to guide them most likely dying young from illness or worse.
So when she failed it hit her hard, because when she failed she wasnt only failing herself but the small weak plant which counted on her, but also her brother and sister. When she failed she was failing them too, proving that she was not strong enough, not brave enough to care for them as well as herself...
So this is why she walked. Walked with not intention but to get away. Get away from her responsibilities, from her failures from everything, even if it was just for a short while. She wanted to know what it felt like to be a child again- after all she was still just a child. So instead of going home, she walked the opposite way, pushing be brother and sister to the back of her mind. They would be okay, they were old enough to be okay for a while, right? Unlike the plant they were stronger, they new what it was like to hurt. but like the plant she might end up failing them too.
