~*~Chaos O'Hana ~*~
“That’s it Tiny, I’m closing up.” The bartender informs me after I once again dominate him in yet another game of checkers, and the bottom of our beer mugs are breaching to the last sip. This Pub’s been cleared out for hours, but it’s us two that understand the other’s lack of desire in traveling home.
A bitter face illustrates my distaste for his decision. “I don’t care if you can out drink anyone despite your petite disposition. I need some sleep.” He teases while clearing the bar before I can finish my beer down to the last drop.
“As long as you can admit to tapping out first.” I taunt back with a slick smirk. “Least give me a beer for the road.” A debating expression from him glues on me prior to his lips cracking into a grin.
“No getting caught.” He advices as he feeds my backpack with two beer cans.
“And if I do I say I got it from anywhere but here.” It’s as if I don’t request a beer or two every time he closes before heavy eyes consume me. Sort of became a ritual to observe the rising sun on the beach prior to ending my night. “Sweet dreams Gladiator.” I say my goodbyes with my personalized nickname for him.
“Night Tiny.” And of course he provided me with one.
The gleaming sun is slowly sliding into the horizon as the sand greets my bare feet. Emptiness also welcomes me as the rest of the population is preparing for the upcoming reaping in their warm beds. But who needs sleep? Apparently none of us O’Hana kids as I spot my Brother swimming along the coast. He’s always been a morning bird, but never this intensely. Immediately concern begins to burden my shoulders.
I ball up a handful of wet sand to chuck at him in attempt to grab his attention. “Lightning! What the hell are you doing out this early!?!?” I scold loudly, being completely hypocritical in this situation. But he should be used to that personality trait of mine. “Get the frack out before you drown with no witnesses!” Though I am here now, making my words very illogical once again.
“What’s going on? You should be sleeping before training…” I question as he joins me on the shore. Like I said, my statements are never taken by myself. It’s too late for me; but I refuse to let my siblings venture the same path.
