After a lot of thinking, consideration, then more thinking, i've decided to leave the site.
It took me a really long time to realize it, but the site and I just don't mesh well together. I think it's been that way for a while, I just always tricked myself into thinking otherwise. However, after spending some time lurking and enjoying my senior year, I began to realize that the reason I didn't really go along with the site was because I expected too much of it. In my time on the site (and especially last year), I began to rely on this site not as a source of entertainment and fun but as a source of my own happiness. The site became more of a crutch than anything, and I discovered that depending so hard on a site for my own happiness only turns out badly.
Over the summer, I began to realize that I had to find my own ways to be happy, and that I couldn't rely so much on THGRPG for any of it. Unfortunately, being the person I am, i'm not one to just suddenly let go of something that I hold close to my heart (like my tributes, y'all know). That reason, on top of things like my senior year, led to my decision to leave the site completely.
However, I really do have to genuinely say thank you to this site. This site is, without a doubt, the only reason for my writing skills ever improving. If it weren't for the constant support not only of my tributes when in the Games and their writing, but of me as a member and as a writer, I would have never had the confidence nor the drive to push myself towards improvement.
Specifically, i'd like to thank Rook, who tutored me way back when I was just a wee lad, still learning the basics. Without his help, and in addition his friendship, I would have never been able to find my place here.
Nyte, Python, Elegant, Zoe, Stare, Rook: I'm so so so happy to be able to call you guys my friends, and I can never thank you all enough for truly being there when things weren't so good. And for dealing with me for so long, honestly don't know how y'all did it, but thank you so much.
Mylee and Rave: I think we know that theres no amount of thank you's or sassy comments I could make to tell you both how much you mean to me, and how grateful I am to be able to call you both my friends. No matter what, you two were there to encourage me and keep me going, and i'm so so happy that we've formed a friendship that will keep living even when i'm not on the site.
To all members, both new and old, just remember that you'll never stop improving on this site, and remember to always have confidence in your writing, that is one of the most important things.
Thanks for being a home, THGRPG. Keep livin'.
