[attr="class","anziescroll"] He's not sure what sends him pivoting on his heels from the television screen, stalking to the phone down the hallway of Four's living quarters, but he can't stand to watch Caesar's interview any longer. Capricious King's words dog his footsteps, "That's Gamemaker King to you," and it's with crisp words that Leon calls for a car, betraying tension that he expertly wipes off his face. King's talking even when he puts the phone down a moment later. Expressionless, Leon hits the power on the television, cutting her off mid-sentence. Her echo spills through the empty room, and Leon's eyes have caught the afterimage of her winking face, showing up wherever he looks. Leon meets her playful gaze blankly, loosely gripping the remote control in his hand. He's still there when his doorbell rings, signalling that his car has arrived. The ride is silent. Or at least, he's silent - the car purrs with a wealth Leon can barely stand, like ants crawling over his skin. Buildings flash by him, tall, smooth blocks like prison bars speeding past him, a twisted reminder of what home is (deep waters with no borders). With his head on his fist, Leon thinks that he knows now why he'd been spirited from the center to their rooftop haven the night before.. Why Glamour's hands were even more urgent than before. Why, that very morning, he'd been intruded upon by Peacekeepers searching through his tributes' sponsored items. The pieces fell very neatly into their places, and Leon doesn't know what to think. His door opens. Leon raises his gaze to his driver, who steps aside smartly for him. Leon murmurs a quiet thank you, swinging his feet out of the vehicle to make his way into Glamour's building. It feels as though they're watching him, every single move he makes; Avoxes, Peacekeepers, each of them have at least one eye on his back. Leon squares his shoulders defiantly; he can't turn back. He can't turn around. He mustn't turn around, mustn't give into the doubts plaguing his head, mustn't look at them. When the elevator doors slide closed, he's relieved for some semblance of privacy. Leon leans against the wall and closes his eyes. What was he doing? This wasn't like him, he doesn't keep love around this town - it was impulse that drove him here, but it feels empty. Feels like he's going against all instinct for someone he said he didn't care for. Shouldn't be caring for, really, especially for something like this. He should be smug. Should be telling Glamour that he had it coming, should break him a little more for all the times Leon's been broken. Should. Should be. The doors slide open to Glamour standing by his fountain, some emotion that almost seems contemplative swirling around his head; somehow, Leon isn't surprised that he knew that Leon was coming. Glamour always seems to know where Leon is, or where he isn't. Somehow. Slowly, carefully, he makes his way into the room. The doors close at his back. Glamour turns. The first words out of his mouth should have been, I told you so, but Leon meets his gaze and says, "You idiot. You complete and utter moron." He surges forwards to seal the words on Glamour's lips. | [attr="class","anzieside"] [attr="class","anziehover"] leon krigel victor of the 67th games oh, our lives don't collide, I'm aware of this i don't give a fuck, not giving up, still want it all |
