Kayla looks like many others around her, wavy light-brown hair and large, hazel eyes. She is average height and weight for her age, around 170cm and 127lbs. She has no exceptionally noticeable features, although her eyes do sparkle playfully when around people she loves. Kayla has a fair complexion, which sunburns easily and turns bright red.
Kayla isn't very strong, and accuracy isn't her best trait either, but she is very quick and light on her feet, if pretty clumsy, easily bumping into everything in sight. She doesn't like to stick out, and her appearance helps her blend in. She likes to wear dark or neutral colors, especially in sweaters and hoodies.
Personality:
Kayla generally is a nice person, whether you know her or not, but it's really just to hide the loneliness she feels inside, that all her friends don't really care for her, that her family is out working most of the time, that no one is ever there when she needs it. Because of this, she is kind of a hopeless romantic, dreaming up scenes where she meets her one true love. She can be very aggressive, but she doesn't have a short temper, so you would have to say something offensive about her family.
If you do manage to make Kayla mad, she will snap at you as if she was never nice, and then sulk around, avoiding contact with anyone. However angry she may get, she will still trust you, because she knows she is trustworthy, but sometimes she places her trust in the wrong people, and can easily get backstabbed. Each time she is betrayed, she will be wary for a while, but she will give you second chances. She tries not to flirt with other people, but she dreams of meeting her soulmate, and she does sometimes stare off into the distance if an old memory is triggered.
She is a slightly lazy person, disliking physical work, so she doesn't like to really train or do work in her district, which will sometimes earn her a punishment. She is a sappy, emotional person, but doesn't like to show it in front of people she knows. Kayla likes to express herself in music, and she isn't half bad either, but she cannot afford an instrument so she has to be content just humming to herself in the downtime.
History:
Kayla was born two weeks before expected, not quite premature but still weaker than the average baby. Her family life was pretty normal, going to school every day, coming home and starting to help cook meals, maybe getting a half hour to watch the Capitol broadcasts.
As she grew older, she learned from her parents to emit a good vibe around people, especially if you felt hollow inside. She listened to her parents, but as they grew older, they spent more and more time working at the power plants, leaving Kayla alone. Her friends weren't too nice to her either, they liked to push her around and tease her, but she kept a smile on.
At home, when she was alone and had time, she would sulk, reading about fantastical adventures where the hero was celebrated and welcomed at the end, as if they had an endless amount of friends, but Kayla tried to understand the protagonist, she would try and understand that, however many people were around them, they were still alone.
Other:
Kayla dislikes the idea of cursing, and she would wince anytime someone said it, offhandedly or not.
