PLOT SUMMARY

Darkness and greed bloomed from a young girl's heart and fingertips, from which the mafia unfolded. Calypso Delacroix, once impoverished and hopeless, rose from the ashes after her family escaped a religious cult and built a kingdom for herself and them. It began with only the Delacroix sisters making and selling alcohol, but soon sprawled to more drugs and more recruits.

An entire gang of young girls, ages twelve to eighteen, prowl District Nine with crowns upon their heads and sisters before blood hot on their tongues.

RELATIONS & MORE

Sisters before blood is much more than a saying. Each member of the mafia, blood related or not, considers themselves family to their fellow mafia members. When a girl joins the mafia, she pledges that the mafia is her new family and cares about them more and would choose them over her blood relatives.

This section is not only for a quick explanation of the Wolf Pack's infamous phrase, but also for the blood relations between mafia members, namely the original sisters, which I will list here. Those listed as original sisters are biologically sisters to Calypso Delacroix, founder of the Wolf Pack. Characters listed as recruited sister are not biologically sisters to Calypso. Recruited sisters were adopted into the mafia however not the Delacroix family itself.

THE CODE

I. The Code shall not be broken.
II. Sisters before blood.
III. Silence will be forever held.
IV. Betrayal is the path to misery.
V. To steal from your sisters is to commit treason against them.
VI. Black market sales as an independent business is forbidden.
VII. The Wolf Pack must remain in the shelter of secret.
VIII. Males cannot be invited into the ranks of the Wolf Pack.
IX. Kill only if you must.


Explanations of the code/the code in clearer terms:
I. Do not do not do not do not do not break the Code.
II. Mafia members matter more than true, blood relatives. Mafia > family always.
III. You will not speak of the mafia to anyone who isn't involved in the mafia unless there are special circumstances, such as business. I'm sure you could tell a friend or a lover, though, but basically, the mafia must be kept a secret.
IV. Betray the mafia and they will make you sorry for it.
V. Don't steal from the mafia. This is mainly about money and/or drugs.
VI. Do not do illegal drug business independently, you have to do it with the mafia and share the wealth.
VII. Revisiting the vow of silence, but this one really means don't get caught more than anything.
VIII. This one is self-explanatory: no males allowed. If males ever enter the mafia, it would have to be for a special reason.
IX. Also self-explanatory. Don't kill unless you really need to, although this one is pretty lenient. If you murdered children in cold blood that would be considered breaking the Code, but then again if you covered it up, you'd get off the hook.
