Name: Moni Hart
Age:17
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 12
Appearance:
Moni Hart would not be considered the prettiest girl in District 12, but not many people would say she was ugly. Her warm, dark, almond shaped eyes are quick to notice when things are wrong, and her bright smile can brighten most of the darkest of days. Moni's small nose wrinkles up when she's laughing, and her thick eyebrows furrow whe she's anxious, which is quite often. Her steady and quick but small hands are usually picking herbs and flowers in the meadow near her tiny, 2 room home. Her nails are ragged from being bit, a bad habit she has been trying to break.
Moni's hair is long and dark, like most of the residents of the Seam, but it is unusually wavy. It also had a touch of auburn to it. Almost always, she wears her hair down, unless it was a special occasion like the reaping. She is about 5"8', which is taller than most people in her family. She has not been fed well, but you can't see that looking at her fit body shape. She is about 100 pounds. Moni has fair skin, which comes from her mother's side. Her father is quite tan, and so are her younger sister and older brother. Her eyelashes, though, definitely come from her father's side. Unlike her mother, Moni's eyelashes are long and thick. Moni usually wears anything comfortable, and her outfits vary from day to day. They are simple things, like a white shirt and black pants, or a handmade polka dot dress for special occasions. She doesn't really care what others think of her, and she likes herself just the way she is.
Personality:
She is almost always willing to lend a hand. Her main job in the district is as a medic. She works with her mother to heal the sick and injured. She gets many patients a day, most sick, thin, and frail. It pains her to see them that way, and she puts that passion into her work. Moni sets out at the break of dawn to gather the herbs, flowers, and vegetables that will be turned into medicine and food later. She comes back and uses the vegetables and flowers to make breakfast for her family. Moni then walks her little sister to school and comes back to help her mother with preparing the medicines. She does have other talents, such as firing a crossbow. Moni does value education, but she knows that much of school is just trying to brainwash the students into loving the Capitol. She knows what horrifying things they have done and what elsa they are capable of.
Moni is a very cheerful teenager. She feels the need to keep positive even though they are less fortunate the the residents of the Capitol or any of the other districts, for that matter. She wakes up and counts her blessings every morning. She is thankful that she is alive, fed, and hasn't been reaped yet. She is thankful for her family, and for the safety of her sister, and that her father hasn't been killed in the coal mines. She is thankful that her brother is at peace, even though she misses him immensely.
Moni does have quite a few flaws. She is extremely insecure, and has very little self confidence. She often apologizes for things that aren't her fault. She is usually a bit too trusting, and always assumes the best of people. She can be impatient at times, but she tries not to lash out at people because she knows that it's not their fault. She bites her lip and also her nails when she gets nervous. Moni will do almost anything forher family.
History:
Moni Hart was born on December 19, 5 years after her older brother Asher. They inseparable from the very beginning. Asher made it his job to take care of his little sister, so he fed her, cleaned her, played with her, and put her to sleep by singing a lullaby each night. Now, when Wren was born, Moni did exactly what Asher had done for her. The three siblings and their parents lived happily.
Asher luckily made it through his reapings without getting chosen, and Moni hopes that she and Wren may be that fortunate. Asher now works with his father in the coal mines, and Moni has been teaching Wren about healing. Moni would really love to try to go hunting outside the fence with her crossbow, but she knows the punishment for that and stays away. When Aaher and their father get home, Asher and Moni go to the Hob and trade for meat, cloth and such with the leftover plants, herbs, and medicines. They then head home and prepare dinner for the family.
Moni is turning 18 soon, and if she doesn't get reaped to participate in the Hunger Games, she plans to continue working as a medic and start a family later. She hopes that she can earn enough to provide her family with enough food and maybe even move them to a nicer part of District 12. And if she does get reaped, Moni promises she will do her best to win. For Asher. For Wren. For her parents. For her family.
