Joule Catherine Spark

With coppery red hair and light blue eyes, Joule is rather cute for a young girl. Her face is lightly freckled and she is a little chubby in the face. Her lips are naturally a bit red, and she isn't very tall. Joule's hands are a bit scarred from various tasks that she does, as well as playing around with things outside sometimes. She is of average weight for her age and height. She is rather good with her hands in the aspect of building things, however, muscularly well-built. Though, she is agile and good at dodging things when need be. Also, when it comes to throwing and catching, she is rather efficient. She has learned this from playing outside quite a bit with her siblings.

Due to the fact that her legs are a bit uneven, she is not a very fast runner, and doesn't have the best endurance when doing athletic activities. Joule also almost always has scratches on her legs from the cat she has at home, who often will scratch at her when she arrives home from the day, similarly to what a dog may do. Typically, she can be seen wearing a skirt or a dress. When she wears a skirt, she often wears a plain-colored top with it. The coat that she wears is rarely seen off of her when she is out of the house. Joule also has a necklace that she treasures with a cat pendant on it, and she rarely removes it. Her hair is almost always brushed out straight, or is occasionally put up in a ponytail.

Joule is a very curious young girl, who often tends to look far into things that she wants answers to. If she were to be asked a question that she didn't know how to reply to, she would make sure that she did whatever she could to figure out the answer. She is also rather independent, doing things on her own most of the time when it comes to a task that she is assigned. She doesn't work particularly well in groups, as it will sometimes cause her to argue with people if they don't have the same opinions as her. Joule is also someone that loves attention, though perhaps a bit too much. She is a sweet young girl who means well, but will occasionally do something she shouldn't have done if she feels like she is being overlooked or ignored completely. She is never one to ignore the feelings of others, however. She will always look out for her friends and wishes that she could always protect them.

Despite her curiosity, Joule still does know how to look out for danger, and won't get into something that she knows could go wrong, if it is simply out of curiosity. She is rather easy to make friends with, and she keeps her friends well, too. If someone she cares for is bothered by something, she will do her best to make it better. This means that she is willing to figure out exactly what it was that bothered her friend, and solve the issue the best that she can. If the issue involves another person, she will try to figure out why this person upset her friend, and make sure things are sorted out the best she can make them. Although she argues with her siblings, she still cares about them deeply as well. She was raised among multiple siblings, which made her often feel left out, but she never tried to make them feel bad for receiving more attention than her. Instead, she would try to just draw the attention to herself. If she is in a situation where someone is being particularly mean or rude to her, however, she will not react in the most positive way.

If someone is to bully her or try to put her down in some way, she will stand up for herself, yes, but how she does it is not always the best. Sometimes, when she speaks up for herself, she begins to get very rude herself. Also, she may even yell and stomp away by the end of her ranting or arguing. Her temper is not something that many people like to deal with when it pops up. Despite her temper, the sweet side of Joule is much more prominent most of the time, and will be the part of her that people notice at first. Her favorite thing to do when she is with friends is either relax and socialize, or come up with some sort of game to play. When she is alone, she is someone who enjoys reading and writing. Even though she is not very good at it, she likes to draw as well.

Joule grew up with four blood-related siblings, as well as two other siblings that were adopted into her family. Therefore, growing up in her household was a bit hectic at times. Her four blood-related siblings are her older sister, Cordelia, her older brother, Bolts, and her younger sisters, Cal and Industia. The two adopted siblings that she has are a girl and a boy named Florence and Joseph. Both of them were older than Joule. They all grew up in one household with two parents taking care of them. They got along rather well, for the most part, despite the arguments that would come up in most sibling relations.

Before Joule was of reaping age, she would often be found playing outside with her friends, running around and having fun. When she turned twelve, however, she began to be a bit different in the aspect of her everyday activities. She became more solitary and independent, avoiding a lot of people. She would still hang out and play with her closest friends, but she wasn't often looking for new ones anymore. Her family noticed the change after a while, and began to try to prompt her to go outside with her friends more often again. Luckily, she has not lost anyone that she knows to the reaping and the Hunger Games at this point. This relieves her, though it also makes her feel guilty that other families are losing their children to the games each year.

The only family member that Joule has ever lost was not to the games. She lost her father after a few years to an illness, and has been crushed by it since then. Luckily, though, he older brother has taken up a bit more of a fatherly position in the family at this point, which does make it a little bit better for the rest of the kids in the family, including Joule. Joule doesn't have too much of a backstory at this point, as she has always had a rather simple and typical life in the district. She hopes that she can keep her life going well, without the risk of losing anyone else close to her. For now, she tries to distract herself with her close friends as well as things that she can do to enjoy being on her own.
