Paint Chu --
The walls of her hospital room had bleed together with the floor. Everything looked the same, and the reek of chemicals and sickness filled the air with every breath she took. It had been too long since she had seen Wolfgang, and without his promising face by her narrow door, and his strong arms to lead her outside she didn't have the strength to move at all. Rehabilitation after the year long coma was going far too slowly, and the strength in her dying legs was still not good enough for her to make trips further then the bathroom not ten steps away. But the young artist was desperate.
And so as sleep lulled the building into a false sense of security she slipped from her bed, bony, pale feet slapping the cool ground with each step. Grunting as her breath hitched itself once more in her throat she pushed past the pain that threatened to spill her forwards. Her fingers itched to paint and to draw, and to once more gaze at the beauty of this world. She'd be damned if she were to let her stupidly weak body stop her. By the time she struggled managed to pull herself into the dirt outside the small clinic she was panting, sharp, painful sobs that tore at her weak lungs.
But as she took a shaky step forwards, the morning light that slipped above the horizon met her gaze. For a moment she stared in awe, simple amazement at the beauty before she stepped onwards, teeth grounding together to prevent a yelp of pain from betraying her. She could do this.
