a note from the desk of
Mace Emberstatt
when you never thought that it could ever get this tough,of District Ten
that's when you feel my kind of love
He just wanted a day of quiet - a day that he could spend in comfort with Saffron and not deal with the rest of the world.
The world didn't like being ignored.
It was only the morning and yet he felt like everything was aimed to pester him. Breakfast had been a silent affair of his own self, the table abandoned earlier by Reggie and Oscar with some excuse of work to be done. He no longer felt like a great wind, but it seemed that he sent them scattering like leaves all the same. When he had attempted to retrieve a particular item of food from the top shelf - which had seemed so important at the time but he now couldn't remember what he had been reaching for - he had stubbed his foot. It took him a number of minutes to be able to walk without a slight limp. Ruffled, annoyed, and somewhat glum about being left on his own, he was completely unprepared for the final nail in the coffin on his quiet, relaxed day.
Mail had been delivered in the form of a giant horse-like creature and now he had to wait for Oscar to tell him what the hell to do with it. Damn it, where was he? Mace was pacing now, glaring a the ground and occasionally at the thing that was standing in his front yard, cropping his grass. It had antlers but he had no idea what it could be. Really, it looked like some malformed horse. Maybe Oscar was starting to collect deformed creatures. If that was the case he would have to put a stop to it. Next thing you know there would be two-headed goats running around or something.
Mace harrumphed and studied the beast for a minute before turning back to his pacing and his search for Oscar. Where was that man already?
