For Day 9 of Ratmas, members were asked to suggest new mechanics for the Hunger Games. So many of you contributed so many great ideas, it was hard to narrow it down! I'm pleased to announce the following additions and tweaks to the Hunger Games:

New Weapon: Spiked Blunt [14000]
Lancelot's suggestion:Kind of a combination of a blunt weapon and a sharp one, a mace was a common weapon used in medieval times. It was known for the ability to be able to inflict damage through armor whether by slicing through it (flanged) or penetrating it (spiked) due to the weight of the weapon head, unlike the more common swords used at the time. I feel that either iteration could make a good addition to the weapons roster, as they don't quite pass for blunts, but they really don't fall into any sharp category either. Instas could include crushed skull, split skull, slit throat (from one of the flanges or spikes), or even some new ones like shattered chest or something. Regular attacks could fall in the range of both blunt and edged damage, such as shallow cuts, bruises, broken bones, stabbing, deep gashes, etc.
New Mechanic:Rolls for Spiked Blunts can be found on Ripred.
Spiked Blunts cover a range of crushing weapons, including spiked and flanged maces, spiked clubs, spiked warhammers, etc.
They are heavy and hard to swing and have a fairly low accuracy (about halfway between a sword and a flail) but when they hit, the damage is devastating.
Enjoy the exclusive new insta Crushed Chest.
Weapon stats at a glance:
SPIKED BLUNT
average (minus instas): 4.618
instas: 5
> 5.5 damage attacks: 113
> 0, <= 5.5 damage attacks: 16
misses: 66

New Weapon: Javelins [15000]
Charade's suggestion:We've got throwing knives and throwing axes, why not throwing spears?
Could re use many of the rolls from 3000, but with way more accuracy so better deep gash/ stabbed in rolls, instas like Stabbed in throat, stabbed in eye, stabbed through heart, and perhaps a few blunt rolls mixed in. Now, knives and axes both get ten to carry due to their small size. Javelins are bigger, perhaps 5-6 along with a special carrying case?
New Mechanic:Rolls for Javelins can be found on Ripred.
Javelins will indeed come in sets of 6. They are very slightly more accurate than throwing knives and axes, with the majority of their hits focused around the tribute's center of mass.
Javelins feature the exclusive new instas "Spear in eye", "Spear through neck", and "Spear through heart".
Weapon Stats at a glance:
JAVELINS
average (minus instas): 4.662
instas: 5
> 5.5 damage attacks: 73
> 0, <= 5.5 damage attacks: 74
misses: 48
proportion Deep/(All Hits): 0.497

New Station: Charisma (AKA get dat fangirl lovin)
Lalia's suggestion:Increases sponsorship. Automatically increases all sponsorship the Tribute is given by site members by a set percentage or can be redeemed for a set amount by "adoring generic Capitolites." Orrrr maybe it'd be more interesting to have a randomized dice roll of items they could be sponsored. Maybe you get a nice weapon. Maybe some Capitolite just thinks you'd look nice in a new dress.
New Mechanic:Tributes with the Charisma station receive a 15% bonus on all incoming sponsorship. Additionally, after the bloodbath, they will receive a random impractical item off of a list provided by the Gamemakers.
inspired by Loony , with modifications by aya
New Station: Rivalry
Loony's suggestion:Does your character get in a lot of fights? Do they have a lot of enemies? Well now its time to be rewarded for slaying your foes! This mechanic allows tributes to send in a list of 3 or 4 nemeses who they will receive a predicted amount of site or sponsorship money (maybe $500-$1000) should they be the one to kill them. Similar to the Ship twist these 71.5 OOCG's, however, the tribute gets to decide who they want to hunt. An important rule that one might want to add is that they cannot ally with that person for the duration of the games, so they must choose carefully who they want to go up against.
New Mechanic:Before the Bloodbath, tributes who choose this station can privately select 2 nemeses. When they attack these tributes, they receive a +1 damage bonus to all attacks that do 6+ damage. (This is similar to the Blades station.) Additionally, at any point after the Bloodbath, they may pick one tribute they've fought before to add as a nemesis. This comes into effect after any mandated fights on the day the tribute selects their new nemesis.

Tweak: First Aid
All tributes will automatically be granted the First Aid station.
Additionally, I wanted to address a couple of the other suggestions:
ali , esther kim d3 {lance} [suggestion: Dual Wielding] - while there are no bonuses for doing so (apart from looking like a total badass) Dual Wielding can be achieved IC by alternating between weapons if you have more than one. For example, if you have a knife and a sword, you write your post with your tribute holding both weapons, but only attack with one (e.g. the sword) in your first post, then attack with the second (e.g. the knife) in your next.
troylus [suggestion: Dirty Fighting] - there's no outright mechanic for fighting dirty; however, tributes are encouraged to discuss with their GMs if they have some dirty fighting in mind, because this is certainly something that can be worked in.
