uriah
history | appearance | personality
He never liked having to tell someone about one person going out, but two people is too many for him to handle. Uriah Shim always felt different from his cousins, different from his family in general and his name is not the only reason why he didn't feel like he belonged with his family. Sol, Luna, Llieve, all of them had names that were Spanish. They all had more foreign names than he, and he was supposed to be normal compared to the rest of his family. The male from District Five was related to two people who has gone to the war that was signaling the possibility of death. Both of them gone in five years apart, both from District Five and both owning a name of a same family. Sol Shim and Luna Shim were people who have gone to that war. And he knew that his life was not something that most people wanted, he already didn't like his life. The male thought he was normal- that he was your every day person.
However, the might of so many people around him made him beg to differ. There was a whole lot of people that filled this earth, that walked it that made it seem so great compared to the rest. Growing up, all of his siblings were doing great things in life. They were all so giving and caring, so compassionate about the world around them. There was never a day in his life that he felt like he was special, that he was a contribution to the world because he was just too scared to even talk to someone. He was scared to get attached to someone, he was scared to have someone that he could talk to.
So, he enveloped himself in the world of talking to himself, the world of locking himself away in his room and just reading away at books or just speaking to himself because he just feels like a silly boy. He was never anything as a child and throughout his raising, his parents too scratched onto his other siblings as he is too low, too lonely for a taste of the reality that his siblings get to feel for themselves. He is not someone powerful, he not someone that has potential to be a somebody. He is just a person in District Five forever locked away in his dreams and thoughts.
He never liked to freshen up for people, he cared about hygiene of course, but he didn't really like the thought of trying to fancy himself up just for people that really had no effect in his life. There was not much for him to think about the others in his life, he felt personally connected with himself and nobody really had to come connected to him. Uriah Shim had long blonde hair, it reminded people of a mullet of sorts but it wasn't necessarily like that. He had never liked cutting his hair, only have done it twice in his life. Uriah liked having long hair, it kept him warm in winters.
The male, like the rest of the other males in his family was taller than most. Uriah stood at 6'5". However, this didn't matter much since he found himself alone and not bothered by anyone most of the time. He weighed 178 pounds and only ate when his mother would pound on his door, screeching at him to come out of his room and eat something for once. He was always confused, because who would ever want to keep him breathing, keep him alive? His parents barely seemed to care anyways so there was no point for them keeping him. He has almost grey eyes and a natural lightly sun-kissed skin tone.
He sits in his room, writing away with that old little book and pen he was given when he was ten for his birthday. His parents knew that he loved to create ideas, he loved to make up his own stories and write them down in little short stories to satisfy his want to do things. He never felt like he had enough time and anyone that was actually and thoroughly interested in hearing his stories, Uriah's parents knew this, so they had him write it away in his own little book.
The male from District Five never felt like people weren't out to get him. he was always convinced that people didn't like him, or people wanted to bring him down. People always scared him because they can be so judgmental and hurtful to those around her. Uriah was never a 'people person', always confined to his own spot and never wanting to go anywhere else. He normally likes to be outdoors whenever he can, most of the time on those nice days right after a rain-shower where you could smell the rain upon you.
He never was satisfied with anything else, his brothers and sisters and parents and cousins, his entire family always did things that seemed much more superior than the things he did. His family always did greater things, the Shim name not known other than being in the games but his siblings doing a lot of great things that made him fill small. They made him feel as if he was useless, and that was the thought Uriah spoke to. Uriah Shim was nobody special, and he was fine with that.
As long as he doesn't go down the same way as his cousins.
