-(Faceclaim: Maya Swan)
Marion has dark, dark skin with warm undertones. She has round eyes and plump lips. She has a large, well defined, stubborn jaw, and a nicely shaped nose. Her smile is bright and warm, and makes people feel cared for. She has black, tightly curled hair that hangs on her shoulders, if she lets it down, which she rarely does. Her expression is often passive and it can be hard to guess what she's thinking.
Marion is short and powerful, at about 5'4. She's well muscled and curvy, and a little bit on the heavy side, but healthy. She's always kept herself in shape.
Marion manages to look nice and well put together in spite of her district's lack of money and resources. Her hair is always styled impeccably and she wears makeup when she can get it. She tends to wear a lot of black, knowing that dirt and holes don't stand out so much against black. She usually sets all the black off with one nice, bright thing, like a nice, shiny bracelet she'll polish off, or a bright blue scarf. Her parents are some of the better off ones in the district, so she can get more of these nice things than a lot of people.
She's has small feet and small hands and small ears. She's always been aware of how stubby her fingers are, and it bothers her. She has wide shoulders and wide hips.
Personality:
Marion does not like confrontations. She hates to confront anyone about anything, and if she has a problem with someone, she rarely deals with it directly. This means she's very passive aggressive. She's a liar, often to avoid dealing with people's hurt feelings. She seems very kind, because she is trying to avoid conflict.
Marion is pretty unsympathetic. She only cares about other people and their feelings to the extent that they affect her. She's selfish and self conscious, always second guessing herself and how she seems. This is partly because her wish to avoid conflict makes her come off as a nice, sweet, gentle person, and she has a reputation for being the nicest and the prettiest girl, the perfect daughter, and she's always subconsciously afraid that someone will find her out, find out that she's not actually nice.
She's two faced and has no integrity. She'll act in whatever way she thinks will make people like her more, or in whatever way will benefit her the most. She's extremely charismatic, pretty clever, and good making friends, except when it shows that she has little understanding of other people's feelings, and very little sympathy.
Partly because of the act she puts on, Marion does not feel like she has a very good grip on her life. She feels like everything is about to go wrong, and that makes her very jumpy. She gets scared easily and is easy to startle. This, as well as her aversion to violence (and other kinds of conflict), strengthens people's idea that she's sweet and innocent.
She works hard to strengthen her grip on her life. She worked to be as charismatic as she is, and she always takes good care of herself and what she cares about. She works out, always looks nice and well put together, and does very well in school.
History:
Marion grew up with two brothers. She was the middle child and didn't get very much attention from them, but her parents doted on her. She would spend a lot of time away from her family, going over to friends houses. Most of the time she spent at her own house was spent having guests over. She wasn't ever very close to her family, but she wasn't at odds with them either.
She always wished she was a little closer to her parents. They seemed to like the idea of her more than they liked her, and she tried her best to impress them by being the "perfect" daughter. She never really opened up to them.
Her family owned a bakery which was famous for her mother's fruit pies. Her father was the overseer at an orchard, where the parents of many of the people of the village worked, so her family has a kind of higher status among the people. Marion's parents are popular and so is she, except for among a few people who she was always a little afraid might see through her facade of perfection. People are sometimes a little disgusted by her and her popularity and the way her family is a little bit wealthier than most people where she lives.
Marion has always worked hard at things she wanted to learn. Her mother is eventually going to give her the bakery, and Marion looks forward to having her own business and her own money. Especially the money. So she learned to bake excellently, as well as her mother.
She also has been a favorite of her teacher's for as long as she's gone to school, partly because they wanted to be on good terms with her parents, and she never gave them any reason to dislike her, but mostly because Marion is an excellent student. She wasn't always the smartest kid in the class, but she never skipped class, never neglected homework or studying, and volunteered often enough.
She's always sort of been the queen bee of her group of friends and at school, but she's also always felt a little lonely. She hasn't had anyone to confide in, or anyone that she really trusts and likes for more than how useful or amusing they are to her. She feels like nobody actually knows her, but she hasn't ever done anything to fix that. She has worked hard for her facade and hasn't realized that she might want to get rid of it.
