Julius' hair is kept at a buzz, never exceeding more than an inch on the top before being chopped again. The shortness of his dusty, brown hair magnifies his facial features and structure. His oval eyes beg for attention as the rich, hazel color catches the glare of the sun, suggesting a twinkle of imagination behind his rugged guise. Thick, dark eyebrows take the shape of a sharp arch just as the brow bone reaches its apex above each eye, and short-lived eyelashes extend from his ivory lids. Red, spontaneous acne is just beginning to clear up from Julius' fair skin, but the blemishes never seem to go away. Small, out-turned ears protrude from the side of his head, and the left one is home to a shiny, sterling silver stud (to the dismay of his parents). His cheekbones are quiet, but there, poking out right below the corner of his eyes and making cameos only in the right lighting. In times of frustration or confusion, his forehead becomes wrinkled with worry. In times of excitement or nervousness, his cheeks become flushed with color. In times of serious contemplation or flirtation, his bottom lip becomes tormented by his front teeth. Dental hygiene was never Julius' strong suit in his younger years, and lack of care then led to imperfections now. His left front tooth suffered a small stain on the bottom right corner, and several of his posterior teeth had to be pulled out or filled in due to infection. Other than blemishes and a slight yellow hint, his teeth are straight and his smile strong. Full and red are his lips, except in the cold of the winter where any bit of frost warps them into a softer, almost translucent color. The bottom one displays a faint, pale, no more than two teeth's width wide line right in the center, caused by his habit of biting down. And his top lip, when relaxed, is obviously a bit asymmetrical; his prominent cupid's bow only makes the imperfection more noticeable. Right under his lips is a shallow dip. That dip seems to caress the top of his chin in a semicircle. The bottom of his chin seems to flow with the rest of his jawline. Altogether, his head is shaped like a heart that is not much more long than it is wide.

Similar to his visage, Julius' overall figure embodies the stage between puberty and adulthood. His neck accommodates, without choice, scruffy hair. His face does as well, and depending on how Julius is feeling, he might choose to shave the auburn bristles or sharpen them (and resultantly the rest of his face) up. He chooses to cover his body with simple clothes, fashion not exactly being an interest or strength of his. His shoulders are broad, and when he walks you can see the confidence in him being thrown around as they take turns jouncing forwards and back. Real muscle began to form upon Julius' body in recent years as he works more and more. His upper body is lacking but his lower body is not. Years of going for runs here or there, or playing soccer with friends on the street, or doing pseudo-exercises in the shower have all contributed to his thick calves and thighs. His stomach is toned. Both his arms and legs are covered with black hair that diminishes in color when exposed to the harsh July sun. Julius' voice is indistinct, and "comforting" was the only word ever used to describe it (courtesy of his mom).

Personality:

In Julius' unrestrained moments (when he's tired, or moody, or on the down from a high, or has three hours of homework, or any combination of those) he is famous for passive aggressive behavior. "Watch out, everyone," his mom would tease. "Julius just woke up from a nap." And it was smart that she did that, too. Julius is a quick thinker, so one comment to test his patience can really make you sorry, and him sorry. Minutes after his outburst, Julius usually realizes how temperamental he was and promises to reconcile for it, improving his attitude and actions for weeks or even months before having another episode of exasperation.

Prominently, however, Julius is a relaxed guy. Mellow would be a good word to describe him if it didn't make him seem so dreary. He doesn't need to do a lot to have a good time, and he usually does have a good time. Time by himself has always been relished by Julius, and he never seemed to understand why some people got bored so easily. His thoughts, Julius realized at the age of fourteen, are just as important as his experiences. Even the nights where sleep is impossible to attain for no obvious reason go by fast, due to the fact that his mind becomes enveloped in rich, engrossing thoughts.

Moreover than thoughts are dreams. They fascinate Julius. What are they? A subconscious world or something more? The receiving of a message or the release of one? The one thing Julius hates about marijuana is that it prevents his dreams or clouds them. His favorites are his sexual ones, his least favorite are the boring ones. His scary dreams are only superficially scary; awareness of his dreams is something he's had since he can remember.

Outside of his mind, Julius is a pretty charismatic guy. His one-liners are famous for being snarky or sultry (or maybe both) and he enjoys good eye contact. Being gay, it's always been a bit difficult to know when a friend is playing around or really flirting with him, but he's made sure never to cross any boundaries unless he knew it would be okay. Oppositely, when people come onto him, he makes it very clear what he does and does not want, and he has never been afraid to be honest when he's uncomfortable. Bluntness has always been something his friends joke about with him, but they do also say they appreciate the fact that they know he will tell them the truth.

Manners have always been a big part of Julius' life. He knows being polite to people older than him is such an important thing, even if that person might not deserve it. His parents have enforced this on him young; ever since he was seven his dad told him to have a firm handshake and to make strong eye contact. His classmates in school who choose to torment teachers and disrespect them consistently aggravate him a lot, and if it's someone he knows he usually tells them to quit it.

Overall, Julius is an honest teenager with honest intentions. He's always been honest about his thoughts, feelings, and actions. He can be a little entitled and outspoken, but not with bad intentions. He can be a bit rude and snippy, but he believes that's him being honest. While Julius knows he is a mature kid, he still has a lot of room to grow and as cliche as he knows it sounds, he tries every day to improve upon himself and his actions.

History:

Aurelia and Gaius were, to say the least, ecstatic when the doctor gave them the good news. The due date was March 22, and they were going to have a boy. When they got back home and sat down in their one-bedroom apartment, Gaius let out a sigh. "What?" asked his wife. "You do realize we're gonna need a bigger house, right?" he replied. Their baby Julius was born and he was brought home to a three-bedroom ranch. The walls of the house were blankets, cozying up all who entered the abode. Anyone who knew the Hunts knew that if soul mates were real, Aurelia and Gaius were a living and breathing example. They showered their baby boy with affection and attention. They never spoiled him but they always made sure he got everything he deserved.

By the time Julius was three, his little sister entered the world. Unlike Julius who was born only a week early, his little sister was born three months early. Hospital visits scared Julius at the time, though now he has no recollection of them. The way his mother recalls it, though, is that Julius was scared straight by his sister's unsightly condition. Tubes went in and out of her body in different places; one tube fed her through her mouth, another one kept her lungs full of oxygen, and one of them kept her blood pumping. Within one and a half months of being in the intensive care unit, Aurelia and Gaius were free to bring home Julia.

The doctors warned the parents that their daughter would have some longterm health deficits. Most noticeably, she would be hard of hearing. They also said to expect her to have a weaker immune system in her younger years and that she might not grow as fast as other girls her age. Julius loved his little sister, despite her flaws. He never saw her as weak, nor sick, nor fragile, and she never gave him a reason to. By the time she was four, Julius and her would play fight. By the time she was seven, they would play school and Julia would always be the teacher. Today, at age thirteen, Julius sees his sister as his best friend, someone he knows he can have honest conversations with.

Much like his family life, his social life is calm but rewarding, filled with good (but not many) people. The first year he entered school, he had met Carmine. She was born one day before him and she never let him forget. They have been inseparable since they were assigned seats next to each other. Together, they discovered the disappointments and pleasures of life while always having each other's backs. While Julius did talk to a wide range of people, he was only ever close to a few. To Julius' parents, Carmine was an adopted daughter. To Julia, Carmine was like a sister. Julius never met Carmine's parents, and Carmine said it was better that way. That they weren't mean people, but that they weren't accepting people. Julius didn't know why they even had to know that he was gay, but Carmine just said it wasn't worth the risk.

Sexuality and sex are two concepts on Julius' mind, but not usually with sexual connotations behind them. Just the interaction between different people and fact that different people might like different people. Julius always knew he was gay, he just didn't know what that word was until he was called it in school. When the kids called him it, he would laugh, or walk away, or just ignore it. After about three weeks of getting bullied every other two or three days, no one ever said anything to him ever again. The local gossip had it that Julius and Calvet (who was already out) had shared seven minutes in heaven together. They weren't wrong, and Julius never ignored it. In reality, he knew that if someone said shit to him it was for one or two reasons: they were jealous he was brave enough to be sexually open, or they were jealous that he got action and they didn't.

Besides Carmine and Julia, Julius has a few other friends from school or other frivolities he participates in, whether it be working in the lumber yard or sharing a joint. Relationships were never a focus on Julius' mind, not to say there were never any flings. Julius just thought at his age, they would be a waste of time. He said that ""the truth is, all teenagers want are orgasms and someone to take to the after school dance, so why lie about it?" Julia would say Ew, and Carmine would laugh, but still they never denied it. School was always a focus of Julius', he always paid attention and got above average grades. While he was never a star-student, his teachers always showed interest when he decided to participate in class discussion, which was often. He also always made an effort to make conversation outside of class with the teachers he really liked. He thought that it would help him learn a lot as a person.

Recently, Julius has started his work in the lumber yard but he's not sure that's what he wants to do with his life. He knows it's important to choose a field that will yield a high pay, but he also knows he wants a job that will keep him interested his whole life.

I just want to say that although this biography says Julius is gay, sexuality is a very violent and very moody affair and is subject to change. I also want to say that I know his parents' viewpoint on his sexuality isn't mentioned because I wanted it to be implied that they could really care less about something like that. I'm also not exactly sure about the possibility of marijuana being in Panem, so if it's an issue it can easily just be erased from his biography. I don't intend on having a face claim for him, and this will most likely be his color palette, and this his background.
