leader of the chrysalis bomb squadron and a common face in capitol wanted photos; a deserter and a betrayer. once a powerful member of district thirteen's society, rose knew since her arrival the resistance wouldn't last forever, so with her husband and three of her mentored students, they outta that bitch. 

stevie cosmos ; [ я𝑜𝓈𝑒 ] fifteen, steven
born and raised on the banks of district four, stevie never knew much of home or of their mother, who passed away in childbirth. besides, isn't the entire universe their home anyways? and at least he'll always have three other mothers and one father to protect their world with anyhow. 

connie maheswaren ; [ open ] fourteen, connie
just a zealous career in district four, she's the closest to normal stevie's gotten - she has no lighthouse home or four parents, the biggest adventure she's desperate for has been in paper text alone. 

priscilla ; [ open ] twenty, pearl
of rose's students, priscilla is the one least comfortable with district four life - constantly dreaming of being back in district thirteen where everything was scheduled and symmetrical, back where her mentor was alive and she wasn't raising a kid while working mutt control with giselle and andy.

giselle ; [ open ] twenty-two, garnet
level-headed and protective, giselle acts on gut instincts, unlike her partner, priscilla's heavy analyzing. since rose's death, she's taken arms as leader of the group and the peacekeeper of them -- the chrysalises's working was her doing.

lars ; cool shades and trendy jeans, tries to not associate with stevie and wanna be popular, not sure about relationship with sadie it's mneuhiguha

sadie ; frustrated tiny bi, stevie's friend and lowkey pop singer lbh, adorkable 

greggor cosmos ; stevie's dad and busted rock singer

TL;DR: Steven Universe! It get cray -- Rose was a pregnant leader of this bomb squadron and she mentored kids to train them basic skills for later use, but fell in love with the capitolite noise and lights and couldn't think about harming it so she dashed out with some of these orphan kids. 

Flash forward, some of them die but they get to district four and it's great times for a few months until Rose goes into labor and dies after giving birth to Stevie. Greg single fathers the four of them until Giselle and Priscilla get old enough to become peacekeepers and they work as mutt control, while Andy is too young to work besides odd jobs -- Priscilla ain't trust her ass anyways. 

As always I'm down for changing any of the names or genders of the characters! However, I'll deny ya ass if you white wash Connie.
