Ice. It felt like ice. His feet was crunching in the snow. The crunch of the snow would be the last sound he would hear. The monster inside Levi was asking to come out and play with all the boys and girls around, yet Levi hated it. He hated that he was turning into something he didn’t want to be. The changes were already happening. The boy who used to be so kind to everyone was turning into Iago. The one person he didn’t want to be like. A dark side of Levi Izar-Krane had shown, just for a little bit, but Levi was weak. Weak in the mind.
Bloodbath was hectic. Tributes fight with their lives on the line. Families at home sitting around watching to make sure their kid would live. The snow was turning pink or red. Levi wasn’t paying much attention to it as he was causing blood to pour onto the ground. The snow melting from the once warm blood. Cuts strewn onto many of his enemies. Tributes fled one by one. His allies and friends all causing the blood to spill. Riot had even racked in a kill. The District Two female. Velocity Rush had already fallen before the District Two female. The blood from her skull already pooling in the snow. The horror of the scene in front of him made him want to run. Run as far away as he possible could from the place, but his allies were still there. They were his priority in Bloodbath.
Right before the incident, Levi Izar-Krane admired his friends in the fight. Riot for such a weird woman, was rather brilliant, almost in her element in the Hunger Games. Her blonde hair flowing as she attacks the one alliance that shook Levi’s bravery to the core. Jordan Scoff-Reye was a fantastic and smart lad. His skills seemed to exceed his cousin’s. And then there was Jeff Ryder. The one man who seemed to know what he was doing in battle. Levi looked up to them all. They all had their strengths and weaknesses, but some things always came to an end. Levi was already scared. Death loomed over the area like it was his home. A dark figure just waiting to grasp them all and drag them to their afterlife.
One alliance was all it took to scare Levi. One alliance that had some of the scariest people Levi izar-Krane has met, with Iago included. Marchello Donner. Ellexias Versity. Katelyn Persimmon. The three people that Levi didn’t want to fight ever. Marchello was a fearsome tribute. No one wanted to get on his bad side in the training center. If you did get on his bad side, you were likely going to either crap your pants in fear or die in some way. Katelyn Persimmon, His district partner. They didn’t talk. They never met. They only knew each other as someone else from their district. Levi had watched Katelyn kill the District Three male. A scary sight for everyone. The poor boy was bloodied on the ground, either dying or already dead. Then there was her, Ellexias Versity, the one person he didn’t want to fight. She was great with a weapon, even if it was just an ice pick.
An ice pick is all you need though. A fight, alliance against alliance, the capitol probably was loving it, but Levi Izar-Krane wasn’t going to. A fight that was well done with already. Levi Izar-Krane was fighting for his mother. That’s who he was fighting for. A game that could save her from the disease that was killing her. Levi Izar-Krane was useless. A dead weight in the game. He could talk all the talk he wanted, but in real life, talk is just talk. Levi turned around to see the woman who was a monster. Even more of a monster than Levi had been. Her ice pick came down hard. The blood drips through his blonde hair and the body falls. A crunch in the snow was the last thing he heard.
Darkness. That’s all he can see. Cold. That’s how he felt. The area around him was nothingness. A black place of nothing. Cold jolts went through his body. A figure pulls from out of the dark. A figure that Levi couldn’t tell what it was. A bony hand reaches out to grab his. Levi wants to retract his hand, but his body has a mind of it’s own. ”Levi Izar-Krane. It’s a joy to see you.” The voice felt familiar, yet unfamiliar. The hooded and bony figure retracted his hand and let out a laugh. Levi’s body shivered. The creepy man just laughed and laughed at Levi. ”Hm. You really don’t remember who I am?” The blond boy just shakes his head. The mysterious figure smiles a creepy smile as he reveals himself. Levi’s eyes go wide as he recognizes them. ”Y-You’re me?” A rather bonier Levi stands in front of Levi. A chuckle escapes the person ad Levi screams in horror.
The darkness vanishes quickly. Levi wakes up in a bed. Tears flowing down his face. A woman who Levi instantly recognizes as his mother cuddles him into her body. A new warmth fills in his body. He almost questions if it’s real, but to him, it felt real enough. Memories of his painful life before flood his brain. The boy’s voice reaches the air, ”Ma? Is that really you?” His mother nods to him. A warm hug ensues. Happiness fills him up, the 69 th Hunger Games was nothing but a dream.
It was a lie. A few days had gone past. Levi Izar-Krane knew he was dead. The world felt too perfect for it to all have been a dream. In just the few days that happened, his little brother came back to them. Wilson. That’s what made him realize it. Wilson was never coming home. Their father took him away. Split the family down the middle. Levi Izar-Krane knew he was dead, but didn’t care. Death had taken him to paradise. Some monsters were evil and yet Levi still made it to his paradise. A monster with a happy ending. His soul felt at peace in the home of the Izar-Kranes. The world was too perfect and Levi enjoyed it. A new happiness set into his soul. Levi Izar-Krane was in a paradise of his own. His mother may be dead, but she was with him in his paradise. His goal reached in the end. An achievement that he gets to have for the rest of his afterlife. Mother and son never to be taken away again.
The Izar boy still had some thoughts though. As he picked the fruits from the garden, he spoke out loud to whoever and whatever was out there, even if no one could hear him. ”I’m sorry for failing you all. Sampson, you are such a strong boy. I will always be in your heart. Nekane, you take care of Sampson. He needs someone there for him even if he doesn’t think so.” A smile reaches across his face. The rabbit foot that Sampson gave him on his hip. Twirling as Levi pulls a strawberry off of the plant. Levi continues speaking out loud. ”Wilson. I know you aren’t really here. It’s a copy to fill your place probably. I hope you live a wonderful life and have beautiful kids. Benat and Iago, I understand what you two did in you arena’s and now that I have faced some of the challenges, I hope you both have an afterlife that you love.” A memory of bloodbath flows through his head. Ellexias Versity’s ice pick comes with a crunch on his skull. Levi frowns. His voice picks up again, ”Jordan, Jeff, and Riot, I hope you three either make it out alive or find happiness in your afterlife. I wish you all the best of luck. Katelyn Persimmon, even though your alliance killed me, I hope you end up with a good life and head home. If you do, I want you to find Wilson. He deserves to talk to someone who knew me, even if by word or glances.” Levi finished picking the fruits.
Home was where he wanted to end up in the afterlife. Home is where he ended up. A monster no more, but a gentle spirit who picks fruit from the garden. A man who once loved to pull pranks and want to kill in the Hunger Games was now at peace. A gentle soul who was free. Levi Izar-Krane was free from suffering. A free soul who only had to live how he wanted to. Nothing to hold him back. Levi Izar-Krane was in paradise. Levi Izar-Krane was at peace. Levi Izar-Krane wasn’t a monster, just a boy who needed an ice pick to set him free from the darkness of the world. Ellexias Versity may have at first seem to be a monster to Levi, but Levi soon grew to learn that she was the holder of the gate to his freedom. Levi Izar-Krane was happy and at peace.
The scene changes again. Darkness surrounds him and Levi wants to be scared, but Levi knows it’s a dream in his afterlife. The bony Levi disappears. A door appears in front of him. Levi carefully opens the door only to see a bright light shine around him. A voice that he can recognize as his mother’s reaches through the other side, ”Levi, Welcome home!” The boy takes a step through the door, right back into his paradise. The door closes behind him. Levi Izar-Krane was home.
