ARISTAOS GABRIS D I S T R I C T 1 S E V E N T E E N Air-iss-TAY-us | TAOS Appearance: Taos's narrow face is distinctive. His features are noticeable. He has generously, luxuriously shaped lips that are almost always twisted into a sarcastic smirk. He has protruding cheekbones, and the lines of his chin and narrow jaw are angular. He has intense, dark eyes. His hair is black and his skin is light brown. (Zakaria Khiare is reserved for his faceclaim.) He's thin, with long, graceful limbs that he moves around carelessly and freely. He's about 5'7, and tends to lean and slouch and cross his arms. He keeps his hair short against his skull, and it's the neatest thing about him. He gets clothes that tend to be very loose on him, but he likes them like that. He doesn't do anything to draw attention to his appearance, but he seems to pull gazes towards him anyway. Maybe it's the way the expression of his eyes contradict his careless grin. Personality: Taos is always grinning, always smirking, always cracking jokes and laughing, but that facade is what he wraps his problems in so he doesn't have to deal with them, because he has no idea how. His self-esteem is extremely low. He jokes about his flaws a lot, pretending to take them lightly and not care about them, but he takes them very seriously and does care. He's very, very aware of his flaws and hates himself for them, considering them to be unfixable. He thinks that he's completely useless, stupid, weak, untalented and a waste of space (partly because his parents seemed to think so when he wasn't good at Career training or school). If he didn't get beat up so often, he might have turned to intentionally hurting himself. He never even tries to fight back anymore. He has no sense of self-preservation, recklessly drinking and doing drugs and having sex and doing anything that makes him feel good. He partly wishes his parents will notices that something is wrong and help him, but he also loves a good time and he loves to escape. He doesn't have any hobbies or anything he cares about so he always just wants something to do with himself. He feels purposeless and has no motivation. He's very, very lonely. He's willing to desperately take whatever anyone will give him, in terms of relationships, platonic or otherwise. He gets into these intense relationships that end almost as quickly as they start, with women and men who almost always were just using him, but he never learns his lesson. He gets attached very strongly, very quickly, amazed that anyone could want him. Taos tends to have random spurts of huge generosity to random strangers who look like they could use something. He gives away large amounts of his parents money on a whim, pushing it at people, grinning as if it's a joke. He doesn't feel like he deserves money and nice things anyway, and he has a lot of sympathy and general human decency when it comes to strangers. History: Aristaos's family has plenty of money, and he can ask his parents for anything he wants and they'll send someone to get it for him. However, buying Taos things is about the only parenting he ever got from them. He proved to be exceptionally terrible at anything involving physical coordination, and that ruled out training for the Games and becoming a Career in his future. He was never a very good student, because he just doesn't care about what teachers want him to learn, and he's not naturally booksmart, so his grades were always terrible. No interesting talents of his have surfaced, so his parents seemed to get kind of bored with him. They were disappointed. His older sister Asteria, with her looks and her exceptional good grades and her singing, was always the favorite child. Taos was kind of ignored, and it had a big effect on him, contributing to his loneliness and his clingy-ness. He had a few friends when he was younger but they grew apart from him, and he never made new ones. He got very lonely and kept getting into more and more trouble in and out of school, hanging out in sketchier and sketchier places as he got older. The facts that he's not very charismatic, he's thin, he always just seemed a little bit different, and he can't fight, eventually led to his getting beat up pretty often. Now he's smoking and drinking, having no real way to deal with his problems, and having nothing to do that he cares about. Other: He tends to fall asleep in the oddest places, carelessly throwing himself anywhere to rest for a moment and waking up hours later. Months of sneaking out in the middle of the night have ruined his sleep schedule. He also tends to forget to eat and drink. |
