The sun was only barely rising and Alexandra was up and about. She had woken up early today, extremely early. Or to be more precise, she had been woken up by the birds screeching musical messages to eachother. She was not yet used to the loud and lively wildlife that the forests of District 7 harbored, bringing all kinds of creatures right onto her doorstep.
Just yesterday she had spotted a fox, darting away to safety as soon as she made a move. The strict woman didn't really love pet animals, but she appreciated the glimpse of wilderness she had witnessed. Maybe she'd try to draw a fox in the forest some day soon.
Even though Alexandra wasn't lazy and she certainly didn't like to be tardy, she needed a certain amount of sleep to function. And the way her night rest had been interrupted by chirping did no wonders for her mood either. Waking up early did however leave her some time to roam around in the city, before going to the peacekeeper station. She shuffled through her closet, quickly settling for the first semi-decent set of non-working clothes she stumbled upon.
Combined with hair that embodied the meaning of I woke up like this, Alexandra admittedly looked a bit shabby, but she couldn't care less. She took her coat and walked outside. The cold air was refreshing and she fastened her pace to get to the town square quicker. She kept her distance to the people at the square, but her smile grew a bit more warm every time a new face greeted her. It almost felt as if she was welcome here, which secretly made her happy. Alex realized that this might be just because she was new in town, nobody knew her real face as the stern unforgiving Peacekeeper. Not yet. It might also be because of her scars, which sometimes made people pity her. But she pushed those negative thoughts away and allowed herself to bathe in the simple, but welcoming atmosphere on the town square, just for a little bit.
She bought an apple and let the saleswoman persuade her into purchasing bread and a canteen of plain sugar cookies as well. A few more simple pleasantries were exchanged, before Alex decided to move on to the next shop. She was multitasking, putting her groceries and wallet away while moving at the same time, or at least trying to do so. Alexandra wasn't really paying attention to the people behind her, which resulted into her bumping into someone with her sharp bony elbow and almost dropping her bagged items. Luckily she had the quick reflexes the Capitol demanded from their Peacekeepers. "Oh, sorry," she said immediately. She checked the situation, trying to determine if there was any harm done. "I was thinking about cookies, instead of watching where I was going," she added. A small, but sincere smile spread across her face. It was slightly distorted by the scars on her right cheek, making it asymmetrical. She wasn't very good at being apologetic, but she wasn't blaming the other person either. So that was a pretty good score, considering the fact that accusing and punishing people was literally in her job description.

I'm still getting the hang of English rp'ing in general and my new char Alex, so please bear with me <3 And please let me know if I make stupid mistakes
