District 10 Female Tribute 73rd Hunger Games | Bailey Truus There is nothing to fear if you don't fear death. Sweat hung sickeningly to the masses of tributes darting back and forth across the Training Center like insects. Grunts mixed with the occasional cry producing a rather shitty symphony. Every person was trying so hard to prepare themselves for the arena. Every person gripping valiantly to the hope that they are the single survivor. It was all pathetic and a waste of time. Sure they may survive a day longer because of acquiring a certain skill now, but in the end they would all perish. Even the Victor one day would lie breathless beneath the Earth’s beaten soil. There was no life, it was simply just a phase before death. It was such a shame people chose to refuse that key truth. However Bailey wasn’t one of those people. Wasn’t one of the tributes trying to shove as much knowledge into her head as possible. If she died in the arena she died in the arena. If she died back home in District Ten she died back home in District Ten. No point trying to choose, it is death after all. Exactly across from where Bailey now stood slouched against the Training Center wall she spotted a tribute that actually peaked her interest. The girl she now could recognize as the District of Luxury’s own Renee Perdris was different from the others that swarmed around them. She was carrying herself not highly but calmly. Not to mention just like Bailey she didn’t seem as though she gave a half damn about any of the training stations. In fact Bailey was rather surprised when she watched the irregular vanish out of the Center and down some hallway. Bailey was so curious about what the intriguing girl was up to that she calmly made her way across the frantic room and down the hallway after her. At first Bailey wondered if she had lost her, but that was before she spotted her lightly colored locks slithering behind her into an unmarked room. For a while Bailey just stayed down the hall where she was and observed from afar. Yet after what must have been at least five minutes toiling into time wasted Bailey began walking towards the door. Only four steps down the hall did Bailey come to a sudden halt as the door burst open and Renee came strolling out with her nails painted and make up freshly done. It took practically all of Bailey’s energy not to scoff at how stereotypical the girl from the Luxury District seemed to be appearance wise. However Bailey wasn’t so certain Renee’s personality matched that stereotype. Especially considering that as the door closed behind Renee Bailey was able to see several peacekeepers inside. Instinctively Bailey’s eyebrows raised as she walked several daring steps closer to a girl who would most likely want her dead in less than a single week. But Bailey wasn’t a coward, Renee had achieved the rare gift of acquiring Bailey’s interest and she couldn’t help but discover why. So with a slightly secretive tone Bailey spoke out to the Luxurious tribute before her. “Care to share what you learned? If it’s valuable of course, if it’s not I really don’t care. Oh and don’t worry you can share with me, afterall, I am just a girl from District Ten who stands no real threat to a career like you.” |
