District 10 Female Tribute 73rd Hunger Games | Bailey Truus There is nothing to fear if you don't fear death. Minutes toil away as though they were centuries, devouring any sense of youth Bailey had remaining in her ancient soul. Phantoms follow Bailey in her every foot step whispering of Esme. Forgotten faces seem to burn their glares deep into Bailey's skin as her thoughts crawl with the ideas of death. Fear becomes a foreign concept in Bailey's mind as her fate pushes her towards ever lasting sleep. She knew there was no point in fretting what the future held for it would be upon her and the other tributes soon enough. The common belief that training would preserve the soul of a tribute was a joke Bailey knew to laugh at. There was no point in planning for a tomorrow when it could all be stolen away. Bailey's feet carried her slowly across the frantic training center. Tributes of every race and age dashed to and fro like fire flies across the bleak canvas of night. Memories too haunted Bailey's waking hours as she recalled all the things Esme and her would do when they young. When they were alive. Bailey thought perhaps there was chance they would be able to do the same things again soon. However, it wasn't that Bailey wished for the sweet serum of eternal sleep, she just found no point in running from an unbeatable opponent. Before long Bailey found herself within some kind of small bar. Surprisingly enough not a single other person appeared to be present. Therefore Bailey didn't hesitate to pour herself a drink filled with practically pure alcohol. Although Bailey wasn't much of a drinker she did enjoy the extra layer of not caring it added to her already thick coat of blankets. About half way through her drink the sound of the door sliding opening sounded behind her. With a half look over her shoulder Bailey spotted the boy from District Six. From what Bailey could recall he was a rather peculiar person and if there was one thing Bailey could deal with it was difference. So finishing preparing another drink Bailey turned and held it out to the boy. "Someone finally remembered its not right to let a girl drink alone?" |
