Only recently had Heath developed an aversion to the locker room. There wasn’t much outward explanation for it. District two had been the sort of place, whether in the training center, or preparing for a dance, Heath had become intimately aware of the human form. There were plenty of times he saw dingles and dongles (depended on the size, as he and his sister referred to them) and of course, flowers because his sister hated when he called them anything obscene. It’s hard enough having to see you naked, you don’t get to make fun of my lady bits too. And so her undercarriage had gone unnamed, or rather—not outwardly. He knew all the words that the boys used, enough to make him blush.
When hair had started to bloom under his arms and atop his lip, he felt a natural unease wandering across the tiles of the locker room. Their bodies were supposed to be shameful, because not being afraid of what sort of vile excretions his body made was either a distraction or a disruption. Not that he didn’t watch bodies with such a ferocity one older boy had threatened to punch him so that he didn’t have any teeth. He was more afraid of someone staring at him. Despite the hair on his head, a strong pair of legs, and his very own dongle, each and every moment had his stomach turning.
How was it that one could feel like so much a fraud without any clothes?
At the least in training center, they provided plush towels to prevent any unfortunate need to run around nude. He’d tried to time his exit to the locker room when it would be more than barren. Heathcliff had just managed to put away his clothes, and wrap himself in his towel, when he moved to make his way toward the showers. Of course this was as long a walk as humanly possible, all one hundred feet of it. And just as he rounded the corner Heathcliff came face to face with one he’d truly been avoiding—Justice Fray.Made by Frankel
