G I G I W I L D R O P D I S T R I C T 1 | Recently, I picked up a habit of reading a magazine as soon as I get home from school every day rather than immediately doing any work that I'm forced to do. Honestly, I think it's made me a more joyful person, thus I'm going to keep on doing it every day. Today, while lounging on the rustic, brown couch in the main room of my small home, I'm curled up with my magazine flipping through the pages of advertisements and other images. So far, hardly anything has caught my eye, only an article about maintaining the perfect hair, and I was about to read into it, but then I remembered that I already have that, so I just flipped to the next page. Finally, I find an article on walking by a writer I recognize, and actually can respect. Apparently, according to the article, the average pair of shoes can take you 500 miles. I'm in the mood to test that, I'm just about dozing off anyways, and ironically, I probably have a pair of running shoes that I've never used before in my closet somewhere, which I can use to test this projection. Suddenly hopping up, I drop the magazine on the coffee table, and head into my room to change. Obviously, I need to change in order for me to do any sort of real exercise, so I grab the pair of running shoes from the bottom of the closet, and set them aside. I only do have one workout outfit, so I don't have to think too hard about what I'm wearing, just my low-cut pink top and black yoga pants, because I have to look damn good while doing everything. Once I'm finished changing, I go outside and it's hot! The afternoon blazes are ridiculous in the summer, I absolutely hate it, but oh well, I already told myself I was going to do this. But where should I go? Hmmm... Well the article said 500 miles, I'm pretty sure that the District Square is about a half a mile away from here, so if I go there and back, I'll walk a mile today. I've gotta get started somewhere! Walking to the Square was honestly not too hard, even if the sun is beating down hard on me. Now that I've made it here, my ears are picking up sound. Music. A street performer? I let my eyes scan the area to find the source of the sound, then they spot a small crowd of people, that might be good company. Confidently, I stroll over to the mass of people and push through the crowds, just to hear the final chord of the song. People have already begun leaving, but I choose to stay and talk to the musician as he puts his instrument down in order to count the small sum of money he's accumulated. Impressive, but here's my time to shine. "Excuse me, handsome, may I request an encore? I promise it'll be worth your while," I say with a smirk. |
