eye of the storm || Natalie & Hypatia vs Kizzy & Bailey

Pain ripped through my arm once again. Fresh new blood seeps through the cut on my arm and as I stare off into the distance for a moment, half expecting the other two from district eleven to come waltzing right back to us, it lingers with nothing but air. The momentary glimps of hope is gone just like that as another enemy, some other chick, takes another slash at me, but this girl is weak. Completely and utterly weak and she is so distracted by the fact that I attacked Natalie that she misses me completely. She flails around and even takes another whack at me, but I barely even have to dodge her because she misses me again. A smirk... and a smile plasters itself on my face and the blood covering my arm is slung in their direction, marking their bodies with my blood splatters.

"If it's my blood you really want, then my blood is what you'll get. You'll just get it when I decide to give it to you." I taunt them, hissing slightly as I rake my arm across my mouth, wiping away the sweat that lingers on my face and dripping from my brows. The heat, even in the howling winds of this cave can't do me any justice. "My heart will not stop beating just to appease you two little girls."

For a few mere moments of my breath, I almost forgot that I had the Truus with me. That she had not been swept up by the wind just as my other two allies had been. At this moment, I am curious, and worried to death about them, but worry can linger later. At this exact moment, I fear that my wounds will be greater if I do not use this axe to bite them first and make sure that their hearts stop first. If I do not, then Truus will not be able to honor her sister. If these two little girls decide that they can keep trying to hurt me, then they are mistaken. It's two against two and three chicks and a guy in one fight. How fair is it that they gang up on the guy? Shouldn't there be something said? I'm sure if my momma had stayed around me then that phrase would have sunk deeper than just a inch.

"I wish my momma had told me not to hit girls, but she never stayed around long enough." I whisper under my breath and grip the axe with all my might despite the broken things in my hand from a few days ago. However, before I can, that Hype girl tries to bit me with her blood encrusted blade again, only to completely show me that they have no skill with the weapons that they will hold dear. Today marks the last day for them to think about going further.

"Truus, you need to find Weaver and Iona!" I exclaim, my breath ragged. Two steps ahead of the game and I force myself to go against the wind at the girl who tried to take my life twice.

Not nice to gang up on one person...

She challenges me back. This kid that couldn't be any older than 16, maybe. At least to me she doesn't look like it and the way she throws back what I say in my face again, I can hardly let it get to me. Instead, I know how this will work. My father was a brute and continously used it against me to get back at me. Going for something I found precious just to make me hurt. A horrible realization runs over me. A startling discovery that I am currently becoming my father because I never expected to do something that he would do. However, I need to help Bailey. I need to ignore this one that keeps trying to mess with my head and deal the damage to the one that is actually causing my body to suffer in silence. In an instant, I watch as Bailey attacks the Hype girl again and a smirk appears on my face.

"At least you are trying to put up a fight. You're friend needs lessons... or she just needs to gain some muscle to work that little ball of hers. No matter." I drone on until Hype turns to me once again, and this time, her knife is angled differently and I back up to miss her again. My foot catches on something and I stagger backwards. A mistake in footing and it causes the biggest mistake on my life. The blood encrusted knife that has already been biting into my skin takes a chunk out of my neck, pulling the tendons away from muscle and seperating the skin to make fresh, hot blood pool over the left side of my neck.

"Bai...ley..." I stutter, half in shock that no more words come out and I remain on the ground for a few moments, itching to cover and keep the gaping hole over my neck from spewing anymore of my lifeblood onto the ground.

Oh, ripred. It hurts... I'm really sorry Tension. Please, never go back home. I'm afraid that I won't be back to protect you from dad. I won't be there to scare off your first boyfriend...

Thoughts run through my head as I regain my surroundings and take a few needed breaths as my vision swims within and the wind kisses my face. Painful breaths suck inward with a wheeze, alerting me to the damage still. I know, at this moment, if I do not do something to protect myself, then I'll surely be the first to perish among my alliance. We all need to survive. That much is for sure. Iona... her story still needs to be written by me. Weaver needs to go home for his family's sake. For Esme, Bailey needs to survive a little longer than the rest of the fools in here. It's my job to protect those... if only I can be the one to deliver that powerful vision.
