Appearance:

Her hair is so red and curly, and her face is so freckled, that she looks like a small piece of morning sunshine. She has a round head, a small nose, grey eyes and thin eyebrows. However, she's just a child and you can't give a definite description of her appearance. Nobody can even tell if she looks more like her mother or her father. But, nevertheless, she always attracts people's attention by a wide smile which can warm anyone's heart.

This smile has been on her face for ages, since she was born till the present day. Even when she was a baby, she was smiling and laughing all day long, amusing everyone around her. When she looks at her childhood pictures, they are all happy. No one even tries to tease her because of her freckles. She is charming the way she is and nobody can do anything but admit it.

Personality:

She loves to draw. All the walls in their house are covered in pictures: small ones, big ones, medium size ones. She doesn't have a lot of paint, so most of them are drawn in pencil, ink or coal. She never draws her life, only her dreams. They are vivid and full of harmony: fantastic animals, smiling people, shining sun. No fences, or Peacekeepers, or anything else like that.

She loves and adores everyone she meets. It doesn't matter much if the person is good or bad. She just likes everybody and everybody likes her. It has always been like that and it's not going to change. It's obvious, isn't it? How could someone not like her? It's simply ridiculous!

She is always cheerful and wants everyone to be happy. And if you need some help, or a warm hug, or just a couple of encouraging words, you're always welcome. Whatever happens, she knows it could be much worse. And there is always something to be happy about, something to be thankful for. You just have to look around you and notice this. There is always someone caring about you and someone who can help, you only need to find them quickly.

History:

Not much to tell. Her father and mother were both scientists. She was born in summer and maybe that's why she is so shiny and unbreakable. Her parents even wanted her to be called "June", or "Summer", but finally came up with Florence. And it's actually a great name. And a very beautiful one. Her early childhood was a fairy tale: lots of love, laughter and singing.

Her mother's voice was wonderful and even gave her goosebumps sometimes. Especially when the song was sad, sentimental and romantic. When she stopped singing, it felt like something very precious was taken from Florence. She didn't understand, what happened. Everyone told her that mum was going to return soon. That's what they always tell little children when their mothers die, isn't it? Now she knows that her mother died five months ago. And she has to take care of dad and her baby one year old sister.

Her father has never been laughing anymore and she doesn't see a single smile on his wrinkled face. He has become much older than he was in no time. And he also started to drink. And no matter how hard she tried to hide the bottles from him, he is always drunk when she returns home from school. She doesn't see anything in his eyes, just emptiness and suffering. And nothing can be done. She just sits quietly in the corner and watches her father staring insanely at the wall.

Other: If you think this can sadden her, you're mistaken. Her father is drunk, but alive and she has a sister to care aabout When she grows up, she wants to be a physicist, like her parents and make the world a better place. And nothing can stop her. Except for the Reaping. But hopefully, she won't be chosen. There are a lot of other people in her district. And why would anyone want her to go to the Games? She's needed here and the odds will be always in her favour... Or will they?
