Appearance
Perhaps the best way to go about this is to start with my flaws, and build myself up in a better light after that, no? I've lived on a farm in District Ten my entire life, which means I work with animals. Therefore, a lot of the clothing I wear isn't in the best condition. Scrapes on my legs and scratches on my entire body can be seen on a daily basis, as they never seem to go away. I haven't always been the happiest with my height and weight, as I'm rather small, even if I am bigger and taller than most of my other siblings.
Now, onto the things that I like about myself, which admittedly, is harder to describe to people. I have my own style, often dressing drastically different from one day to the next. I could be wearing work boots, a t-shirt and jeans one day, only to be wearing a dress and flats the next (although, admittedly, the work boots, t-shirt and jeans are much more comfortable for farm work). My hair is relatively long, reaching rather far down my back, and it is a very dark brown color that appears almost black. My eyes are rather dark colored as well, and seem to be a chocolatey brown.
As for my general appearance, my skin is of a dark shade, and my lips are a bit plump. For a twenty year old female, I'm also surprisingly muscular, which is likely because of all of the physical work that my parents have me help with. My finger nails are almost never clean, always seeming to have dirt under them. I also tend to keep my nails rather short and trimmed, so they don't get in the way, although they still will break sometimes if they aren't quite short enough. Overall, my appearance is rather average, and I like how I look.
Personality
I've always thought of myself as someone who's rather easy to get along with. I like being around other people, and I can be very social. Generally, I don't seem to find any reason to argue with people, so I stay relatively peaceful. I find myself very lucky at this point in my life, too, having been fortunate enough not to ever end up in the Hunger Games. Unfortunately, I worry about that happening to my siblings, since they are still of reaping age, aside from Chloe-Jean, who's only eleven, but will soon be hoping not to be picked like all of the others. I am generally looking out for my siblings while my parents are working, so I've become a more responsible person than I used to be.
Some of my favorite things are being around the animals on our farm and taking care of them. I love to ride the horses that we have, and even have a specific one that I usually ride named Beau. As someone who works with animals, I absolutely hate when anyone abuses or mistreats them. Violence, whether it be towards animals or humans, is something I always try my best to avoid. I'm not very good with confrontation, often backing down if someone tries to confront me.
Of course, everyone has flaws not only in the way they look, but in their personality as well. I'd say that some of my flaws are that despite being able to stand up for others, I often cower if someone makes it so I would need to stand up for myself. I don't have a very good image of myself when it comes to my personality, and am not very confident in myself. Even though I work well under pressure, I get very stressed over other things, such as when I have no one to help me. If I'm left on my own to take care of something like a sick animal, I begin to panic, being afraid that I'll do it wrong. I'm almost always afraid that I'm going to mess something up.
History
I've always loved my family, and I'm very grateful to have such a large and healthy one. I live with both of my parents, as well as my four siblings. All of my siblings are younger than me, and I get along with them rather well. Since I love to be social, I've made a lot of friends over the years. When I'm with my friends, we tend to just hang out and chat about life, often sharing stories of what's been going on recently. Story-telling is something that I've always loved to do.
My family and I live on a large farm in the poorer area of District Ten. My parents both work on the farm, my mother mostly caring for sick animals that she's found around the District, while my father cares for our other, healthy animals. I usually am helping out my parents, while the younger kids in the family find other ways to entertain themselves, occasionally helping out as well. Since my parents are usually rather busy, I'm often left to watch my four siblings when I'm not working as well. I actually rather enjoy helping out, and I don't mind working for hours on end when I get to work with the animals.
To make money, I also have a job on the side. I work in a pastry shop near the district square, which has been rather helpful for my family, even if I don't make a significant amount of money doing my work. With our family being somewhat poorer than others, it's always helpful to get a bit of extra cash. Most of the money that the family makes is by selling the products that the animals on the farm produce, such as eggs and milk. I hope that one day, my family can start making more money. We've always been low on funds, so I'm not quite sure what we'd do with extra money, as it wouldn't be something we were used to.
