[Day 2] Round 1: Beach Vollyball

Beach Volleyball. The event that surprised himself that he even made it. Everett had only just learned how to play the crazy game within the month. A ball, a net, and two players working together to destroy the other team. Enzo had made fun of him the moment he got into the event. Though, Everett knew that once he saw his teammate that he would be fine. Brooke Destin-Libertine, a girl with a few last names that struck a chord within his mind. Libertine had been the name that was attached with Mason's games. Destin was a name that had so much meaning according to the games, but he could care less about that. Brooke was Brooke, not the last names that she was given, just like Everett wasn't like the rest of the Krearns. He was Everett, a boy addicted to adrenaline, a boy who was running his home after his parents died. The night before he had been tying knots and drinking to keep his mind off of the tsunami that destroyed the order of his house.

As he did some stretches getting ready for the match, he looked across the field looking at the opponents, Fray and a name he didn't know. The Fray's were known for their skills and self righteous attitude about themselves. The best of the best according to their own words and many of the people who have faced them or seen them. Everett didn't care, he would try his best, win or lose, he'd live. He'd live a life that he would be proud of. The fact that he tried would make him proud of himself. Even with a bottle to his lips every other night, Everett was still alive. Alive and kicking. That's what mattered to him the most. Brooke and Everett had more in common than he could have thought. Parents both dead to something horrid and evil. The Hunger Games taking lives from both of their families. Everett felt for the girl, yet he could see that she was strong. His voice rang out softly to her, "If we win or lose, I want you to know that I'm glad I got to compete with you. Now let's go out there and try to kick some ass!" A smile pulls at his face with excitement and joy.

The field was as sandy as the beach that he grew up on. His eyes look over to Brooke, he smiled in confidence. Mentally preparing for the sweat and adrenaline of a game that would be pumping through his skin. Excitement sending him on the edge of moving. The world was watching him getting ready to play a game that he only recently learned. As the game begins, the only thought coming through his mind is how he's going to have so much fun no matter what happens.
