Kirito Miristioma
Victor Of The 70th Hunger Games
Victor Of The 70th Hunger Games
The frailty of the situation could not be underwritten nor explained. Every passing second could lead to unavoidable exposure, to the death of those who clung to Kirito's mind eternally. Beneath his pen histories were being written while pasts were being expunged. Two lives were falling into an abyss of the forgotten while two new ones were becoming birthed in exchange. Time tortured the clock with each terrible tick as demise could loom just outside the doorway to Kirito's office. It had only been hours since the steel trains skidded to a halt within the fences of Eleven. Only hours since the harbingers of horror stood waiting outside the train's doors. Parades of Peacekeepers and cameras were there ready to capture the victors' return, but more importantly the look of grief upon Katelyn's, Harbinger's, and Navya's face from the monstrosities which had occurred on the Capitol's show. Once more the trio of survivors from Eleven were under the boot of the venomous President.
Kirito, just as the others, had followed the serpent's soldiers on their march back to the Victors Village. They were treated as prisoners within their own home, yet all Kirito could think about was her. Oasis was waiting behind panes of glass for his arrival. A basket filled with secret things, Kirito could only wonder what was in store for his first time being home. Yet all those pleasantries just as always were stripped from his mind by bubbling fear. If the Peacekeepers escorted him fully into his home the revelation of Oasis and Rafe's existence grew exponentially. Along with the dread thought of their public execution, one which Kirito was certain the sinister serpent ruler of the Capitol would attend himself. But for once luck actually seemed to spare Kirito another tragedy.
When the victors were marched into the village, the Peacekeepers showed no interest in forcing them into their homes. It would seem the demon king who watched from his white walled fortress cared not about what they did after getting home. Per usual he only intended to drive a force of emotional disarray into the heart of the group with Navya and her child marching alongside them. It was after Kirito saw the last spec of white venture off into the coming night that he slipped away from the light of his own home only feet before him. There was something Kirito had to do before he could return through the hearth of his home. Before he could hold Oasis in his arms again. Before his heart could return to beating within his chest.
Leaves licked with Autumn red crackled beneath Kirito's feet as he had maneuvered through the dark District. Sweat had stained his skin as staggered breaths had racked his lunges. Yet he did not yield and venture back upon the path towards safety. Life was fragile and short, time had not been kind nor would it ever. Living in fear of the time remaining was not something Kirito would be willing to settle for ever again, Back in the Capitol Katelyn had aided him upon the first leg of his quest, where he had reached now would see through its second phase.
Cold air whipped through the thick strands of Kirito's hair as his body entered the Justice Building. Aside from the secretary working the desk not a single other soul was visible, which made Kirito slipping away into his office as a District Council member all too easy. Once inside he got straight to work. The work of altering reality with his own pen.
Looped letters flicked across the files as a background story laced in normalcy was written. Lavendar and Grove Corvus were just two normal people who had always lived within Eleven. Grove had worked the fields while Lavendar dappled in various affairs from healing to sewing. Their parents had died from the great famine which occurred during the great drought several years back. Now they currently lived with Kirito who offered his home for them to stay within when their own became infested with insects. As for their prints, their blood, and their photos well, they all had been collected by Kirito a while back locked away within his office safe. When he finally added them to the file it transformed Oasis and Rafe Tunson of District Six to Lavendar and Grove Corvus of District Eleven. The second phase of his quest was complete, they were now officially members of District Eleven... and according to their citizen files, they always had been.
Upon completion of the dangerous task Kirito returned back out into the moonlit District. Far above his head the stars glinted with brilliance as a half moon accompanied them. A smile burgeoned with relief hung heavily on Kirito's face. All the suffering and all the hardship could finally change. A new life could be written in the stars just as easily as Kirito had written them upon paper with pen. All it needed now was the gift Kirito had yet to give.
Slight angst mixed with undeniable excitement prick Kirito's skin as his hand wraps around his front door's golden handle. Light washed over him as he pushed the door softly open. At first not a soul stood waiting by the door, that was until the door shut with a light clunk. Then it was as though Kirito had returned from war. His Ma's arms tightly embraced him while she told him about all the things he had missed. Yet all her words floated into one ear and out the other for his full attention was locked on one thing.
Oasis. Her beauty washed over him like an angel's light. Every part of her radiated as she reclined down the stairway. Just like that Kirito was back to the beach dancing with her beneath the same stars shimmering outside. A love laced smile embraced Kirito's cheeks as he met her halfway up the stairs pulling her gently into his embrace. Her warmth filled Kirito's entire body firing everyone of his senses, and then. His heart started to beat for the first time since he had been out of her sight.
Words initially fell short from Kirito's tongue until somehow they finally were able to click and whisper from his lips to her ears. "I have missed you so much. Now how about that picnic under the stars I told you about? There are somethings I need to tell you and ask you. As I'm sure there is a whole bunch you have to say as well. All I know is I want to spend my first night back with you."
