WRESTLING: ROUND 3

Welcome to the Wrestling event of the second Panem Olympic Games! The wrestling mats are located within the Olympic Arena, with stands for spectators traveling from Districts One, Two, Four, and the Capitol to watch the competitors. Television cameras are set up around as well, to broadcast the event to anyone staying home as well as to the other districts who aren't as lucky and competent as you all! Please be sure you stretch and warm up with your coaches before you're called to the starting block, and remember, make your district proud!

The wrestling event is a tournament, which follows a bracket. Each match will occur on this thread. Feel free to roleplay your character grappling with their opponent and then paste the code [*roll range="1-15"] without the asterisk into your post and roll, as you would with a Hunger Games die. This number is used to determine the winner of each match.

The competitor who scores higher than their opponent moves on to the next round, which will be posted on a new thread. As the wrestlers post, the winners and scores will be recorded here; when all the first round matches have been completed, the bracket will be updated and the next round will start.

There is NO POSTING ORDER; you may post whenever you please. Keep in mind that this event must be wrapped up by the end of the Olympics Day.

Ryan Findergah

He had won his last match rather handily. It was certainly not nearly as close as his first pairing had been. Perhaps his last hold had been a little brutal, but it had been effective and legal - or at least legal enough to slide. Now that he had made it to the semi-finals he was sure he would win a medal. He would have to lose two matches in a row in order to not, and that just wasn't his style. A bronze would be a bit of a disappointment, but it would still be something to show off when he was back in his district. If he could get multiple medals all the better, but this was one he would have for sure. He just knew it.

His opponents would know that soon enough, too.

Aidan Reid

The second girl fell, and he was in the semi finals.

He had been cautiously optimistic regarding his chances entering the tournament, confident in his own skills but also fully aware of the potential capabilities of the other competitors. Hell, the other day he had nearly gotten his ass whooped by a fourteen year old in boxing. Plus, both girls that he had faced in the previous rounds had clearly known what they were doing, even if they had lost to him in the end.

The home district was eliminated from the tournament completely, leaving two others from his district and then one scrappy looking girl from One. He had no idea who one of his District partners was, the name Findergah failing to ring any bells within his memory.

But the third representative....ah, yes, he'd heard of him.

Torka of house Hammerfell, reaped for the 73rd Hunger Games, only to have an overly courageous, or perhaps overly stupid, fourteen year old rush forward to take his place before he could accept his spot.

There was no doubting the hulking boy was a born fighter. He'd wrecked a different girl from One the previous day, and the day before that had narrowly escaped with a win over a Krearns boy from Four.

And now he was standing not ten feet away from Aidan himself, prepping himself for the match to come.

A small part of him had hoped that he'd be able to save the hulk for last, but the logical part of him argued that if he was able to take him down now, then victory would be practically assured.

The ref takes center stage, and a small hint of a grin creeps its way up Aidan's face. Stretching his palms out in front of him, he listens to the faint poppoppop of his knuckles, matching his opponent's gaze with his own.

His arms drop back to his sides, and the slight grin grows a bit wider.

Right here, right now, he could toss a Hammerfell on his ass and show the entirety of the Career districts who was really the best in Two.

Torka might be the favorite to win the tournament, but Aidan had a lasting reputation as a dark horse, and he had every intention of living up to it.

The ref blows his whistle, and Aidan drops into his stance.

Alright then, Hammerfell. Show me what you've got. he thought.

Then, Aidan Reid lept into battle.

Torka Hammerfell

I advanced in the rounds, and now here I am standing in the final four. Just one match until I'm guaranteed my gold medal. It's all I got left. And I think it's coming my way. No, I don't think, I know it's coming my way. I take my place on the wrestling mat, and I turn taking in the crowd. But apparently that was a mistake because my opponent catches me off guard, and I know I have to strike back with the best of my ability. My lips curl back, and I snarl as I lunge forward. I can't lose. Not now. Not ever. Because I'm the best there is even if someone tries to prove me wrong. If I lose, it's because I threw it. Nothing else.
