KERES CHEYNE
FEMALE
DISTRICT FOUR
CAREER
APPEARANCE
Keres has always had rather small or 'petite' facial features. Her nose is rather small, and she has thin eyebrows as well as somewhat small eyes. Thin lips are another feature of Keres's appearance, and her skin is rather pale in comparison to most people in the coastal District of Four. She's tall for a girl her age, reaching six feet even, and is rather skinny, but not in an unhealthy way. The skinny aspect to her is likely more of a healthy, athletic skinniness.
Her long, brown hair is often a mess, whether or not she tries to neaten it up each morning. It's very hard to tame, so she often just lets it be. When her hair is as neat as it can be, which admittedly, is still a mess, she parts it to the side and will often try to braid it, even if it doesn't come out the greatest. She lines her blueish colored eyes with black eyeliner, and is usually wearing makeup. Keres also tends to dress in a way that she considers stylish, usually consisting of neutral colors and whatever the trendy fashion of the District is at the time. She admires Capitol fashion, too.
A tattoo that's in the shape of a heart with wings resides on her right shoulder blade. She got it as a bit of a gift to herself for not getting into too many violent fights in her fourteenth year of life, as well as to cover a scar that was there. Most of the people she knows are unaware of it, however, as she doesn't usually wear clothes that show it off too much. She doesn't intentionally hide it, though. Instead, since Keres is rather confident in her appearance, and wishes she could show her tattoo better. The only thing that she may try to hide about her appearance is the fact that she has an extra toe on her right foot, which also throws off her walking a bit sometimes. She therefore is never seen wearing sandals or any open-toed shoes.
PERSONALITY
Rude, angry and violent are three words that could be used to describe Keres Cheyne. She's always been someone with anger problems, and sometimes, they even lead to violence. As someone who's brutally honest, she's not normally seen as polite, and this pushes people away. Sometimes she feels guilt for being mean toward particular people, and a nice side of her shines through, but it's not very often that this happens. The girl argues a lot with others, and when she gets violent, she gets in trouble. This has happened in school multiple times, landing her in detention quite often.
Keres does have a soft side, but it doesn't come out to reveal itself very often. When the kinder part of her does show, however, she will do things such as give people compliments, and sometimes the softer side of her even develops feelings of romance and love toward others. She's never had a girlfriend or boyfriend, but she isn't opposed to it, if she feels that she can tolerate the person and actually start to care for them after an amount of time. Tolerating people is not easy for Keres, though, as her anger issues can make her drop profanities quite often. Her everyday vocabulary tends to involving a lot of swearing, whether or not she's angered, too.
Death isn't something that effects Keres very greatly. She's watched the Hunger Games every year of her life for as long as she can remember, and always just rooted for her District. She would feel disappointment or even anger when the tributes she was rooting for died, yes, but she was never saddened by it. She didn't even cry when her own cousin died in the Games, which is something that surprises quite a few people. As far as she knows, nothing really ever made her the way she is, personality-wise, as she's always been the vicious and somewhat obnoxious person she is now.
HISTORY
When Keres was young, she wasn't any better behaved than she is now. One day, when she was eleven years old, out of anger, she attempted to strangle two young boys, ages three and four. Luckily for the boys, an older man came across the scene as it was unfolding and broke up the incident by getting between them and pushing Keres away. Keres was then sent to the detention center for an extended period of time, returning home only just in time for her first reaping at the age of twelve. After being released from the detention center, however, the girl did feel some regret for what she did, mostly because the boys she had attacked were so much younger than she was and would not have been able to fight back successfully had they tried.
Keres has a lot of cousins, one of which died in the 72nd Hunger Games, however, Keres wasn't very affected by the death. Death isn't something that has ever really effected Keres. In her immediate family, Keres has two brothers named Reggie and Ronnie and a sister named Ode. She's never lost an immediate family member, although she's not sure how effected by it she would be if she did. Going into the Hunger Games isn't something that the girl fears, either, as she feels that she may even volunteer some day. She's trained for quite some time, and has become rather good at a variety of weapons, such as knives and an axe.
During childhood, Keres didn't have a very large amount of friends. She did have a few, yes, but they were normally those that she had met in school that didn't know about her violent urges, or trip to the detention center when she was eleven. Since age twelve, Keres has had less friends than before, as many of them abandoned her upon finding out about her attempt to strangle the two young boys. The few friends that she does have at this point, though, either believe that she has changed and is a better person now, or they don't mind her anger issues and violent tendencies. Keres isn't bothered by having a large amount of friends, either, though, as her hobbies are usually things that she does on her own, such as writing and drawing. Admittedly, her stories and drawings are usually of rather gruesome things.
