You know your way perfectly
and you have such rhythm in your feet
School was out for the day. That was surely a relief. It wasn't exactly stressful for him, but it took up time of his that he'd rather be spending on other things, such as meeting new people. Today, he had agreed with a younger girl at his school that they could hang out and talk a bit for a while afterward. This would be as friends, since she was about three years younger than him, and he wasn't even interested in a relationship with anyone at the moment. Certainly not a fifteen year old girl, at least.
Friendship was a nice thing, however. Toby has always loved making friends, and this girl, Corina, was the same age as his little sister, Bea. Perhaps by hanging out with a girl the age of Bea, he'd be able to better understand his sister, too. There wasn't much that Toby knew about Corina, aside from the fact that one of her older brothers, Eric, had been whipped by Peacekeeper for some reason. Toby wasn't certain of what the reason had been, though. The only thing that made it so he knew this was that the boy was whipped in public, and had been around Toby's age.
Not sure if this would be an alright thing to bring into conversation with his new friend, Toby decided to be as cautious with the subject as he could be. He was curious, though, which did mean he would still bring it up. The boy didn't want to upset his new friend, though, so he knew that if he were asked to stop, he would.
The two met up after school in a park not too far down the street. Toby had taken a seat on a bench, offering for Corina to sit with him, and spoke up when he did so.
Corina was a pale girl. Her hair was dark, as were her eyes. She didn't resemble anyone else that Toby knew, either. Despite being the age of his sister, she didn't look like her at all. Regardless, she was pretty in her own way. Toby wasn't attracted to her, no, but he could always tell when someone was good-looking. That was never too hard. He didn't even have to like someone to tell if they were attractive.
"Hey, it's nice to get to talk to you, Corina. I think I've heard your name mentioned a bit before today, but we never got to really know one another until now." the older boy told Corina. Toby smiled when he said this, being as friendly has he could be without coming off strangely. He liked making new friends, and he figured that this would be a good opportunity to do so.
