The Endevi family. In the eyes of the average District Ten citizen we are quiet and secluded. Us children are home schooled and our Mother is dead. Our Father works as a prominent Veterinarian, or at least as good as an animal doctor can come in these parts. Sadly though his prices are higher for his efficient work making work harder to find. We aren't wealthy but we aren't poor. We live in a small ranch house close to the edge of the District, so close that when the Peace Keepers actually keep the fence electrified we can hear the birds which land on it getting shocked to death. Its a pleasant sound really. Its a pleasant existence really. We keep out of every ones way and they leave us alone. We aren't exactly the social type, hence the seclusion and home schooling.
The Endevi family. In the eyes of the not so average District Ten citizen we are powerful and respected. We stand as an important piece in our society, a piece many revel in. At home we are taught modern things from normal school, and we are also taught incredible things from our special school. In addition us children are taught to be as proper as people can be, we have a critical image to uphold after all. When our Mother died not only we mourned but every not so normal person did. Our Mother was like a Queen among us here in District Ten, she did not share the special gift of the bloodline for she married in. But still she rose to a place of pure respect and adoration. Our Father on the other hand is blessed by our bloodline's gift, hell it has made him one of the most powerful members of our society's existence. In daylight we Endevis are secluded, but in the night we are dominant.
Then there's me, Apollyon Endevi the eldest of the main family branch's bloodline. As with all Endevi offspring the moment I was born heavy expectations were placed on my shoulders. Of course, as with all children my potential was unable to be displayed until a later age. That age turned out to be four when a traumatic event shook our family and our society to its core. My Mother was always a healthy woman, healthier than most in fact. She went on morning jogs and stayed in shape from what I have been told. Her death was out of no where, but I warned of it coming. The day of younger sister's birth I was restless, constantly crying the entire day even well before my Mother went into labor. The average citizen would blame my unhappiness on the fact of my lack of eating that day, we know better. An hour after my Mother's death during my sister's birth my Father came to me tears still freshly clinging to his eyes. He kissed my head and held me tight, the rest of my family did the same and congratulated him. It wasn't on my sister's birth, it was on my revealment. Only later did I come to know what that meant.
Flash forward to present day, I'm seventeen years old and the focus of all my family's efforts. Every expectation they have has fallen on my shoulders. I train intensively every day and feel the stress of their eyes every second. I know our entire society is expecting important things from me, I'm the heir to the Endevi title. Oh and what is it that makes us so special? I suppose I should finally let you in on our big secret, the Endevi family is renowned as the society's Seers. What does that mean? Let me gladly tell you what I am told every day of my life by everyone I know. As Seers we can look into the past, the present, and the future. We are critical in protecting our society from mass catastrophes and events which could expose us as "heretics" to the Peace Keepers. Our society is more than happy to remain secluded in the shadows.
Now don't get me wrong, I love my position. How stressed it makes me sucks and some days I wish I could actually live like a normal boy. But most days I am fine with not being ordinary. You see aside from stressed I'm a very ambitious person. I want to be the best in my family, which as the young prodigy I already am, and I want to become the best Seer our society has ever known. I want my name to be remembered for generations. To be etched into the eternal catacombs of our history. I want a great deal, and I know if I push myself hard enough I can achieve them. However, this aspect of my personality does bring out another one I'm exactly proud of.

To be quite honest I can be a dick. This is because I'm heavily judgmental. I'm not entirely sure this trait in me arose from my position or whether I am just naturally like this, but one way or another its a part of me. I notice it most when it comes to my younger sister Adaliah. I don't blame her for my Mother's death as many think I do. What I find disappointing about her is the fact she hasn't once shown potential for our family's gift. If it turns out she doesn't have the eyes of a Seer she will bring embarrassment down upon our family. Embarrassment which naturally would effect me as being a part of her family. Due to this I don't often refrain from telling her how badly she is screwing up. Yeah I feel bad, but that feeling of guilt probably fades more quickly than it should.
However, in the end she's my sister either way. We don't look awfully alike but you can definitely tell we are related. Where she has long blonde hair mine is short and brown. The list of differences could go on but I fear becoming redundant, so I will focus on my own details. My eyes are blue and light matching my light skin tone. My frame is sleek and thin due to my lack of many muscles. I'm more of a mental kind of guy than physical. My ears are large where the rest of my facial structures are small aside from my lips. I'm told it doesn't make me unattractive but I remain unconvinced. Everyone says I look like my Father, he found a wife eventually right? I suppose that means there's hope for me.
Oh, since I am discussing my appearance I suppose it is trivial to mention my skin is loitered with a plethora of scars. This is simply due to the nature of many of the ingredients I need for my abilities. Often they call for certain amounts of my blood, which in return is a minuscule offering for the gifts I am given. Without these gifts myself along with our society could crumble. Now allow me to explain this society of mine in better detail. We all know we have traits special to us passed down from our past generations. It is these truths which bring us together into a single society. Now one might ask why would the Capitol allow such things, to be honest they mostly put the rumors of us off as nuts or lunatics. It makes us remaining unharming to the Capitol in the shadows much simpler. For those of us who do become troublesome though they are often... well... killed. The Capitol handles us "heretics" very strictly, so its better to remain small and in the shadows than risk exposure and death. This is the way of our society, the way of life in which the Endevi family resides.
