Name: Florence Spark
Age: 14
Gender: female
District/Area: District 3
Faceclaim:
Appearance:
I'm not totally gorgeous, but not ugly, either. A redhead, like any other Spark, with the messy curls hanging loose and flying in all directions imaginable. My eyes are so dark, that they almost seem black, even though they are really brown, like my mother's. My high arched eyebrows and a turned up nose make my appearance joyful and mischievous (which I am). My two front teeth are big and uneven, so I also look pretty much like a crazy ginger beaver.I am so thin, that I could probably be blown away if we ever had strong winds in our district. My elder sister Cordelia used to call me "twiggy" when I was smaller. I just don't eat too much, even for a girl from a poor family with a lot of children, because I can never sit still at a table for a long time and behave myself. I also can't sit straight, it requires too much effort.Personality:I am the most immature person in Panem. I always rush somewhere, never just walk or sit for too long. Life is too short to waste it on being patient and slow like the other people. I wonder why they don't understand that. I run, jump and dance so much, that I am rather strong and agile despite my thin build. I am always moving, because it is what I was born for. To live, breathe and move. There is a lot of time for people to be quiet and unemotional after they die. I don't want to let a single moment of this life go without accomplishing something awesome and intriguing. An adventure is always so much fun! I don't get to save anyone's life or save the humanity in district three, it is too grey and not fascinating at all, so I have to dream of something to make my existence more interesting. I love to imagine princesses captured by a dragon in the trash cans and black wardens of the evil queen in the street next to ours. I often lead a gang of boys from neighboring houses to conquer an abandoned building on the edge of the district. My best friend Connor is our king and I'm the queen and we both lead our forces to victory. Ok, we don't always win, the guys from the street next to ours often take their fortress back, but we always regroup and attack to return our kingdom its glory and succeed. We are not their enemies, a lot of them go to school with me and we are good friends, we only become rivals for a short time every day, and it is really great to develop our strategy and think of new ways to defeat the enemy.I never miss a chance to sneak up on somebody, but it is not because I am nosey, I think it just makes me better at spying, which is a skill, necessary for each warrior. I never tell anybody what I hear, I guess it makes the exercise way more noble than regular eavesdropping. I also love to learn something new and exciting. However, school is always difficult for me, because all the teachers are too slow and always spend a lot of time talking about things which are obvious. They can go on explaining something simple to us for two or three minutes. I don't believe everybody else is dumb enough not to understand everything right away.History:I was born on the 23rd of April, in the family of Samantha and Larry Spark. Mom and dad were wonderful parents. I will never forget how my father used to play with me and carry me on his back around the house. He was a horse, I was the knight in shining armour and we fought monstrous chairs in the living room to turn him back into Prince Charming and rescue our mum, who was the kitchen fairy, bewitched by the queen of dirt. We had to sweep the floor and wash the windows to break the queen's spell. Mum always laughed a lot at us and often joined in the fun. She also told me bedtime stories about fairies, princesses, elves, dragons and a lot of other fairytale characters.I still remember the day when they both came down with some illness that took their lives a week later. When they were sick, they wouldn't let me come near them, because it was something contageous and dangerous. I spent all this time in an empty house, curled up in the corner of my bed upstairs. Mum kept singing something from time to time to calm me down and make me feel better. In five days my dad was gone, I think. I heard distant sobbing from my parent's bedroom while I was sleeping. Next day my mum stopped singing and silence fell all over the house. I was scared of the chairs (monsters of the evil queen), of trembling shadows in the corner. I tried to clean the house, but it felt like it was under a curse which could never be broken. When another week passed, my relatives began worrying about mom and dad, because they didn't see them at work, so one day they came and found me in the wardrobe in the living room. There were two corpses in the room where my parents were supposed to be. I didn't want to believe that I would never see them again. I know that eventually we will be together, no matter what, I just have to wait and enjoy life while I can. I know they would want me to do so.I was adopted by my aunt, the wife of my father's brother. The family consisted of her and seven children, including me. They didn't have a father, too, but they had Bolts, the oldest child in the family who was almost as amazing as my dad was. After I became a part of the family, he helped me feel less lonely and thanks to him, I started to get on well with the rest of the family. My favourite sister is Cal, who is simply the best person on earth, though I love everyone else, too. My adoptive mom is always a little sad, but kind and caring, just like my birthmother. This year my brother was reaped and killed in the Hunger Games. After he was taken away, I decided I have to save him before it's too late. I tried to sneak into a grain which was going to the Capitol, but the Peacekeepers noticed me and I had run from them. I tried it a few more times, but they were always watching. I was desperately struggling to get on the train and go save Bolts, but it didn't work out. This is the only quest in my life I regret failing. He was dead before I could do anything. It was like the curse that made me an orphan. But I still believe heroes always get a happy ending and Bolts was a hero. The curse of Death didn't destroy him, I can still feel his presence around the house. We just have to wait until we see him and my parents again. I know that one day we will be reunited and stay together for an eternity.Other: I hope to be a hero, like Bolts and my parents, when I grow up. I want to save lives and help everybody whenever I can. I want to make my family proud and make everyone forget their fear and troubles. My dad always kept saying: "If you always have faith in others and remember who you are, you'll make the world a better place. If you don't make a difference, no one will. Life is too precious to live it in vain." And I won't let him down. I will make the fairytales come true and defeat the evil that is trying to take over my kingdom.
