Mana Bauer // [District Seven/CB #1/Fin]

People always tell me to shut up whenever I want to talk about my life. I mean, yeah, I've got pretty much the perfect family: older brother, parents are still together, even all four of my grandparents are still alive. When the holidays roll around, we all squeeze into grandma Bauer's house. I go to school with my cousins and that's actually harder than you'd think; I'm never away from my family. I do love them, but you have to understand, it was hard growing up with them. I mean they named me Man-a after all, and I never quite forgave them.

I don't think of myself as a downer but I guess I am. My school is just too small to appreciate what I've got to offer, so I'm saying forget it - why really need friends? I had a boyfriend for awhile last year but he got pushy and so I ended things. I miss him, but he wasn't a friend before and he sure isn't a friend now.

I like to dye my hair with the scraps of paper dye my parents bring home. They keep telling me this summer I have to get a job, too, but I don't even really care about paper? It's fine but kind of boring. I feel like I'm waiting for something, an adventure, but I don't even know what that would look like. Until it comes along, I guess I'll keep chilling by myself, just Mana Bauer, staring at the clouds.
