My first kill. But I don't have time to mourn, or to cheer, or to anything. I used to be good at putting my emotions aside, back when every move of my life was controlled. Letting me out had been his greatest mistake. He'd hoped for me to confirm my purpose.
Instead, I've just ended up lost.
A bottle of champagne floats down on a parachute. I've seen this before; it's something 'father' used to crack open when he had important meetings with those seven old guys.
And just as the bottle touches the ground, the forest seems to light up, the sun's rays peeking through the trees. It almost feels like home.
It makes me wish I had Zoroark here with me.
I take a sip of the liquid that 'father' has never let me drink, and a calm, sleepy feeling washes over, like my senses are dulled and yet on overdrive all at once. There's something in my mind that tells me I need to continue thinking about the woman I killed yesterday, but it doesn't matter anymore. There's only a cold detachment, a wide expanse of sixteen variables in a deadly equation.
Maybe I'll regret this in the morning. Maybe I don't care right now.
